Siheung lunch for two at Two Find Peter, a Baegot Italian restaurant

In short

Two Find Peter Baegot Branch is a casual Italian restaurant on the second floor of the Green building at Avenue France in Baegot, Siheung, Gyeonggi. Just before the holiday break, the writer and a younger colleague ordered vongole pasta and the signature beef salchi steak (chuck flap tail) cooked medium rare, and asked for refills of the pre-meal bread and crunchy pickles. Four-seat hall tables at Two Find Peter need no reservation, while the private rooms must be booked at least two hours ahead on the day.

With Chuseok just around the corner, I realized I'd be stuffing myself with all the cozy holiday food for days, so a sudden urge hit me to switch things up with something other than Korean food. My junior colleague happily agreed, and we headed to a nearby Italian restaurant.

Where is Two Find Peter Baegot Branch, and where do you park?

We arrived at Two Find Peter Baegot Branch, which has been making a name for itself as a pasta spot in Baegot, Siheung. All zones of the Avenuefrance mall parking lot (Green, Purple, Blue, Yellow, Red) allow up to 2 hours of parking, and Two Find Peter Baegot Branch is located on the 2nd floor of the Green building.

From the entrance, it's a comfortable, casual-feeling restaurant.

· Casual restaurant (casual dining): a restaurant where you can enjoy a meal at a reasonable price in a relaxed atmosphere with less formality and pressure. Service and ambiance are simplified for broader appeal. · Fine dining: a high-end restaurant with a strict dress code, upscale service, and course meals that approach artistry.

Hall tables or a private room: how booking works

Two Find Peter Baegot Branch has generously spaced tables and just the right lighting, so you can eat quietly in a cozy atmosphere. There were a few tables of diners actually eating when we visited, and you could barely hear any conversation — it's a space where you won't be disturbed.

Still, if you're sensitive to noise or want an even more private (ahem) experience, there are rooms available too. They comfortably accommodate not just families but groups as well. The 4-seat hall tables can be used without a reservation, but the 2-, 4-, 8-, and 12-seat rooms need to be booked at least 2 hours ahead on the day.

Since it was past lunch hour, we were told we could use a room, but as two manly men we politely declined and took a hall table instead — haha. Each table has its own soft lighting added, which makes the cozy mood even more alive.

Pre-meal bread and pickles, with free refills

The pre-meal bread, pickles, and balsamic oil came out first. We were hungry, so we devoured every last piece of bread, dipping it in the pasta sauce too. It has a soft dinner-roll texture and of course pairs well with the balsamic oil.

The vongole pasta at Two Find Peter

My junior colleague went with the vongole pasta (clam oil pasta). It's a pasta I often make at home too since it's easy to cook. The clam broth makes it perfect as a hangover cure.

· Vongole Pasta: named after 'vongole,' Italian for clam, this dish blends the savory depth of fresh clam broth with the flavor of olive oil — a classic oil pasta. The traditional Italian method is the 'in bianco' style, seasoned simply with olive oil, garlic, parsley, and white wine. · Per-serving ingredients and recipe ① 100g spaghetti or linguine ② 200–300g of de-sanded clams (Manila clams, littleneck clams, hard clams, etc.) ③ 5–7 cloves garlic, 2–4 pepperoncino (or dried chili peppers) ④ Plenty of olive oil, 4 tbsp white wine (soju gives a bitter taste, so cheongju/rice wine can substitute) ⑤ Salt, pepper

Signature beef salchi steak, cooked medium rare

I went with the beef ssalchi (chuck flap tail) steak, which you could call Two Find Peter's signature dish. The chicken and pork neck steaks are also great value, but since we'd made the trip, I wanted a proper taste of real steak. It was grilled medium rare and came with wedge potatoes, butter-grilled mushrooms and tomatoes, whole grain mustard sauce, salt, pepper, and wasabi. Absolutely delicious.

The steak was grilled just right, and the al dente pasta tasted even better since it had been a while since I'd had one. Treating ourselves right before the holidays. The wedge potatoes added a nutty, crispy variation, and the grilled mushrooms and tomatoes made for the perfect finishing touch to a refined dining experience. The pickles were neither too salty nor too soft — fresh and crunchy — so we asked for a refill.

Is Two Find Peter Baegot worth a second visit?

Actually, I visited a different Two Find Peter location years ago with my family and had a satisfying meal, and I'm glad to see they've kept the same consistent quality. I also discovered they now have an even wider menu and affordable set options, which makes me want to come back on a good day, order some wine alongside, and eat to my heart's content. ■
