Cheonan Korean BBQ with no-smell anchang galbi and makguksu: Yukmian

Today I visited Yukmian Cheonan Buldang (육미안 천안불당점), a pork galbi (marinated ribs) spot in Buldang-dong, Cheonan that's great for company dinners! It looked inviting from the entrance.

Where is Yukmian Cheonan Buldang, and what are the hours and parking?

Yukmian Cheonan Buldang is at 92 Buldang 22-daero, 128-129, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan, Chungnam, and it's open daily from 11:30 to 22:00. Monday to Friday there's a break time from 15:00 to 17:00.

What's the vibe for a company dinner or a date?

The restaurant has tables for 2, 4 and 6, so it looked fine for company dinners, and there was indeed a big group when I visited. I went in the evening and the lighting inside was on the dim side, which gave it a nice mood.

The tables and interior are tidy too, so it seemed good for a date or even a get-together to hand out wedding invitations.

Yukmian's menu: from yukhoe to galbi and daechang

The main menu has Korean beef yukhoe (raw beef tartare), Anchang galbi, pork galbi, bone-in galbi and seasoned Korean beef daechang (beef intestines), so you can go from yukhoe to galbi to daechang. The set menus looked good too. The couple set comes with galbi, yukhoe, soybean paste stew and pot rice, so it seemed like a good order if you're coming as two.

There's also a lunch special set where you pick naengmyeon (cold noodles) or pot rice with your galbi. The lineup and price looked good, so I thought I should come back for lunch next time, haha.

They also give you a handmade chestnut tiramisu if you join the Naver receipt review event. Chestnut tiramisu isn't even on the menu, so I figured I had to join the event.

What side dishes and sauces come with the meal?

The basic side dishes were buckwheat noodles (makguksu), white kimchi and dotorimuk (acorn jelly). The lineup was solid and the quality was good. I was happy that so many quality sides came out even though I only ordered galbi.

There were four sauces too: salt, whole-grain mustard, truffle mayo sauce and wasabi. The sauce tray looked classy and added to the mood 👍🏻

Once the meat arrived, the table was full and generous. The dishes and overall atmosphere were clean and nice. Time to dig in again today!

Does the smell of meat stick to your clothes at Yukmian?

Yukmian Cheonan Buldang serves the meat fully cooked, so you can eat galbi without the smell clinging to your clothes. The staff just finished the cooked meat with a torch right in front of us.

At normal BBQ places I always worry about my clothes smelling, but since everything came out cooked at Yukmian, there was no need to worry.

The juicy signature Anchang galbi

I was told Anchang galbi is Yukmian's signature, a super juicy galbi, so I ordered it, and it really was full of juice and delicious! The pieces were big and thick too.

Looking at this again, I want to eat it all over again...

The Anchang galbi wasn't tough and was juicy and delicious, and it's already seasoned, so it tastes great even without dipping. There are four sauces, so you can dip to taste, and I loved the truffle mayo sauce so much.

Onion, asparagus and cherry tomatoes came out too, and they go perfectly with the galbi.

Anchang galbi with buckwheat noodles: a combo I recommend

A staff member explained that the Anchang galbi tastes even better with the buckwheat noodles served alongside, so I tried it, and the combo is really good! The noodles are slightly spicy and the galbi is sweet, so you get sweet and spicy together 👍🏻 I recommend this combo, haha.

Is the crab soybean paste stew worth ordering?

The crab soybean paste stew at Yukmian Cheonan Buldang is ₩5,000, and it has crab in it, which made it extra delicious. I planned to just eat meat and leave, but the meat was so good that I kept wanting more food. So I ordered the crab stew and rice too, haha.

The stew was really good. I kept sipping the broth, and even though I was full, I put rice in it and polished off a whole bowl.

Dessert: handmade chestnut tiramisu from the review event

For dessert I had the handmade chestnut tiramisu I got by joining the Naver receipt review event!! From the meal to dessert, everything was covered, and the chestnut tiramisu was sweet and delicious 🤤 I left well fed.

Who is Yukmian Cheonan Buldang recommended for?

If you're looking for a good company dinner spot among Buldang-dong BBQ restaurants in Cheonan, give Yukmian Cheonan Buldang a try, haha. The meat comes fully cooked so the smell doesn't cling to your clothes, and the interior is clean and pleasant, which makes it good for dates too.
