Ansan bakery café by Lotte Cinema: peppermint tea, castella, Flowerpot

In short

Flowerpot Cafe Gojan Branch is a large bakery café in a building next to Lotte Cinema in Gojan-dong, Ansan. On a weekday at 7 p.m., the writer had an iced Americano, organic peppermint tea, an egg tart, a white roll and castella; most of the bread had sold out, but what remained was moist and generously sized. Flowerpot Cafe is a popular bakery, so go before evening if you want a wide choice of bread.

Where is Flowerpot Cafe?

Flowerpot Cafe is a bakery and dessert café in Gojan-dong, Ansan, in the building right next to Lotte Cinema Ansan and close to Ansan Lake Park, haha. The shop is big, and since it's a bakery café, the variety of bread is seriously impressive. It's near Ansan Lake Park, so I think a walk after stopping by would be nice.

What are the set menu and bingsu at Flowerpot Cafe?

Out front there's a sign for a set menu: a sandwich and one coffee for ₩10,800. At that price.. I could see myself coming for lunch a lot, haha.

They also have bingsu (shaved ice dessert), including red bean bingsu, injeolmi bingsu and mango bingsu.

What is the atmosphere at 7 p.m. on a weekday?

I went at 7 p.m. on a weekday and almost all the bread was sold out, sob. It's so popular that I'll have to come earlier next time, haha. Below is the inside of the shop.

The inside is spacious with a ton of seats. And as we chatted a while, I noticed quite a few people had come in, even in the evening!!

Maybe because it's an open kitchen, you can see the whole kitchen, and it was kept super clean. I liked that it's a big café where you can relax, haha.

Tableware, scissors, packing station and trays

On one side there are utensils and scissors so you can eat your bread comfortably, which I liked.

There's also a packing station so you can take leftover bread to go.

Trays are ready too, haha.

Flowerpot Cafe drink menu: what teas are there?

Here's the menu at Flowerpot Cafe in Ansan, haha. There were lots of different teas, and the organic teas caught my eye.

They give a pretzel meringue cookie for a review, so I recommend writing one and getting it. There are also coffee grounds available!

The bread left at Flowerpot Cafe in the evening

Almost all the bakery items were gone, but I photographed everything that was left. There were Guri balls and oatmeal cookies. There's pretzel meringue too! Fig pound cake and lemon pound cake, haha. Alligator and blueberry pie too, haha. And garlic rusks.

There were also walnut cranberry bread, red bean butter salt bread and white rolls.

There were chocolate rolls and orange marmalade too, and the prices were friendlier than I expected.

They had castella and lemon rolls too. The brownie was huge, haha. There's organic juice too! Plus several kinds of scones. And garlic baguette.

It's also really nice that there's a restroom inside the café, so it's convenient to use.

Organic peppermint tea and iced Americano

I ordered an iced Americano and organic peppermint tea, haha.

I drink peppermint tea often, but not many places use organic pyramid tea bags like Flowerpot Cafe does, haha.

How do the egg tart, white roll and castella taste?

From the bakery I ordered an egg tart and a white roll. The egg tart is big, super soft and delicious, sob.

The center of the egg tart was really moist and not too sweet, which made it delicious. The white roll is packed with cream too, haha.

I ordered castella too, and it's big, really moist and soft, sob. At Flowerpot, the big bakery café in Ansan, the bread quality is seriously good, haha. Even on a weekday, seeing almost all the bread sold out in the evening tells you right away how popular it is.
