Seongsu soft serve café with a Wanna One fan-café vibe: Mellows

Mellows is a dessert café in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, specializing in soft serve made with Sangha Farm milk, a 3-minute walk from Ttukseom Station Exit 7. A visitor from Daegu ordered matcha, peach and peanut butter soft serve plus 2 iced americanos and found Mellows packed with Wanna One photos and albums, like a K-pop fan café. With rich milk flavor and low prices, Mellows is worth recommending for anyone after soft serve around Seongsu and Ttukseom Station.

Seoul Station gyukatsu restaurant, a top-five sirloin cutlet: Ichigyu

Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch (이치규 서울역점) is a Japanese restaurant specialising in gyukatsu (beef cutlet) and steki (steak), on basement level 1 of the LG Seoul Station Building by exits 10 and 11 of Seoul Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. Visiting from outside Seoul after searching for a Seoul Station lunch spot, the writer ordered the basic gyukatsu and steki, brushed the mini brazier with the butter served on the side, and grilled the beef one piece at a time. Verdict: the thick, well-marbled sirloin gyukatsu at Ichigyu ranks among the top five gyukatsu the writer has ever had.

Milyang Chinese restaurant, yaki udon-like jjamppong: Milyang Dol

Milyang Dol Jjamppong is a Chinese restaurant on Baekmin-ro in Milyang, near Yeongnamnu Pavilion and Milyang City Hall, specializing in dol jjamppong (spicy seafood noodles served on a hot stone plate). On the way home from Ganwoljae, just before dinnertime, the blogger ordered the dol jjamppong (for two) plus mini pork and chicken soup set; the dol jjamppong tasted somewhere between yaki udon and jjamppong, with crispy scorched rice at the bottom to scrape up. Milyang Dol Jjamppong is worth a stop if you want an unusual jjamppong while traveling in Milyang.

Seongsu tonkatsu restaurant with free parking out front: Kosi Seongsu

Kosi Seongsu Branch is a tonkatsu and Sanuki fresh-noodle cold udon restaurant a one-minute walk from Ttukseom Station in Seongdong, Seoul. Two spots in front of Kosi Seongsu Branch are free for one hour, and the counter and window bar seats make solo dining easy.
