I stop by Hyundai Department Store Jungdong whenever I'm shopping or catching a movie. This time I was looking for a filling snack instead of a proper meal, so I wandered the basement food hall and spotted Angry Potato Hyundai Department Store Jungdong Branch. I've always loved fries, so I naturally drifted over — and the menu turned out to be way more varied than I expected, with fresh-cut potatoes fried to order, mini burgers, and chicken too, enough for a full light meal.😀 It ended up tasting even better than I imagined, so I'm pretty sure I'll be coming back every time I'm at the Jungdong branch — a proper Jungdong Hyundai food hall gem.

Walk into the basement food hall at Hyundai Department Store Jungdong and Angry Potato is the very first thing that grabs your eye!

The intense, cute-eyed mascot character and the yellow-and-orange accent interior catch your eye from far away.

Under the glass at the bottom of the counter, real 100% fresh potatoes are stacked high. Seeing with your own eyes that they cook with these fresh potatoes the moment you order builds trust before you've even taken a bite!

On the wall, stylish neon signs spell out hip phrases like "THE REAL POTATO" and "EVERY DAY?" — fun to look at, and really photogenic too.😎💛

A basket piled high with crispy fried Angry potato chips at one side of the counter caught my eye! 💛 I regretfully didn't order them this time, but they looked so crunchy just by looking — definitely getting them next visit😂

The menu was much more varied and packed than I expected, so it was hard to decide what to get. For anyone who struggles to choose, there are perfectly put-together "recommended combo" (mak-pick) sets like Angry Meat, Sriracha Tuna Mayo, Sweet-and-Salty Bulgogi, and Chipotle Pulled Pork. I'll have to try one of those combos next time😀 Here's what we ordered and ate today😋

While waiting for our order, I checked out the self-serve sauce bar too,

Chipotle, Sweet Chili, Diablo Hot, Honey Mustard, Sriracha Mayo and more — 8 different sauces neatly laid out in all!

With so many sauces to choose from, it was hard to decide..🤣 Being able to pick 3 sauces for just ₩1,000 let us try a bunch of flavors without stress.👍🏻👍🏻 We picked up the food from the pickup zone🤍

Kids bulgogi fries: the pick for a kids' snack

If you're visiting with a kid, I'd recommend the kids bulgogi fries. It's an easy-to-eat, not-too-much portion, so my kid ate it happily, and it paired well with the chicken and mini burgers too💛

Hot Crunch Chicken at Angry Potato

The hot crunch chicken we ordered alongside exceeded expectations too. Maybe because it's 100% chicken thigh meat, it wasn't dry at all, and the outside fried up wonderfully crisp — really great texture. It had a little kick of spice, so it went well with the fries and shakes too😀

Chicken vs. beef mini burger: how do they taste different?

The mini burgers turned out to be way more satisfying than I expected!! Small in size, but stuffed with filling, they delivered more than just a snack.

The chicken mini burger had light, crispy chicken that worked really well, while the beef mini burger had the meat's flavor really coming through — both were delicious.

Dipped right into the sauce too! 🔥

Chili's cheese sticks at Angry Potato

Can't forget the cheese sticks either. Made with 100% natural whole mozzarella, one bite and the cheese stretched out long and savory. Crispy outside, soft inside — this one was top-tier too 👍🏻

With the sweet shake on the side, it felt like a proper full meal.🤍🤎 Angry Potato Hyundai Department Store Jungdong Branch serves up honest, delicious food!
