Indeogwon family beef dinner with a prize draw: Yakiniku Pungyeong
In short
Yakiniku Pungyeong is a Japanese-style yakiniku beef restaurant near Indeogwon Station, a 10-minute walk away in Uiwang, Gyeonggi, close to Baegun Lake. A family of three ordered anchangsal (skirt steak), snowflake galbisal and premium teuk galbisal and grilled them over charcoal, and because Yakiniku Pungyeong lets every guest in the party do the review-event prize draw instead of just one per table, they also received beef tartare gimtae rice balls, buttered scallops, green grape cheese crackers and watermelon for free. Both the beef quality and the generosity made Yakiniku Pungyeong the best beef the writer has had recently.

Hi, this is Kkankkan Gamja! It was so hot this holiday that my family couldn't even think about going anywhere, so we decided we might as well eat something really delicious — and headed to 'Yakiniku Pungyeong,' the beef restaurant near Indeogwon Station everyone's been raving about.
Spoiler: this choice gets full marks haha. Genuinely the best beef I've had in a long while. So here's my 100% honest, picky review.
Yakiniku Pungyeong near Indeogwon Station: location, hours and parking
- Address: 28 Botdeul 2-gil, 1st floor, Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do / Poil-dong 667-1, Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do
- Hours: 16:00–23:00 (last order 22:00)
- Parking: 1. Up to 8 free spots in front of/beside the building, first-come first-served 2. Paid lot at Centrol Tower 3. Paid lot at Sup-sok parking building
What Yakiniku Pungyeong looks like from outside

It's about a 10-minute walk from Exit 2 of Indeogwon Station, and there's a park right next to it — perfect for a walk after eating! Driving is great too, since it's only 5 minutes from the station and the restaurant has free parking for up to 8 cars right out front.

Even before going in, the cute Japanese-style props gave the place a really distinctive vibe. It reminded me of Fukuoka — if you're missing a Japan trip, come here haha. Great location, easy parking, this is definitely the spot if you're looking for a great beef restaurant near Indeogwon Station.
Inside Yakiniku Pungyeong: atmosphere and the side dishes

Once you open the door, the local Japanese vibe hits even harder. It's so similar to an actual yakiniku place in Japan, it really felt like a trip haha.

Each table has partitions, too, so it's great for chatting with family.

The side dishes that come with the meat are excellent too. There was pickled gungchae, baek kimchi (white kimchi), pickled peppers, and eolgari kimchi I think.
Yakiniku Pungyeong menu: à la carte beef, sides and drinks

First off, there are set menus that include drinks. For à la carte, there's beef tongue, snowflake galbisal, anchangsal, kkot galbisal, and teuk galbisal. Seasoned versions of the same cuts are also available.

For sides there's mungtigi, beef tartare, beef tartare gimtae rice balls, hanwoo mulhoe (raw beef in cold broth), uni, and tuna tataki — mix and match whatever you're craving. I highly recommend the gimtae rice balls ><

There's a full drink menu too, so pick whatever suits your taste.

The review-event draw: every guest plays, not just one per table
And here's the most important part — the review event. Yakiniku Pungyeong is apparently famous for giving out all kinds of extras, and it's true.... Usually only one person per table can do the review event, right? But here, if you go with 4 people, all 4 can do it.

Write a review and you get to do a nostalgic lottery draw haha. We got two 4th-place prizes and one 5th-place prize, so we ended up with 3 pieces of beef tartare gimtae rice balls and buttered scallops. More on that below!
Anchangsal vs snowflake galbisal vs teuk galbisal on the charcoal

We ordered anchangsal, snowflake galbisal, and teuk galbisal.

Before the meat came out, we got a refreshing pickled tomato! This really woke up the appetite and was delicious.

First up, anchangsal — apparently a special cut you only get a tiny amount of per cow. Look at that sheen.
Grilled over charcoal, the juiciness is unreal. But it's not greasy at all — clean and light, so even a light dip in salt is pure heaven.
The moment we took a bite, all three of us went wide-eyed like 'what is this place...?' Ah, this is why it's known as the best beef restaurant near Indeogwon Station.

Next, snowflake galbisal! Whoa, that marbling... it's the rib area minus the bone, and it's a bit fattier and softer than anchangsal.

If anchangsal goes down easily, snowflake galbisal melts before you even chew. Both are tender but in different ways, so switching between them made the meal even better.
Finally, teuk galbisal! Honestly I thought I was too full to eat more, but this had its own charm too. Not chewy in a tough way, just pleasantly springy — perfect for the last round. My dad was completely blown away haha.

Beef tartare gimtae rice balls and the free extras that kept coming
And here's the side dish we got from the review event!

First, the beef tartare gimtae rice balls — the beef tartare is genuinely as much as the rice itself. They don't skimp just because it's an event prize. Wrapped with sweet pear and gimtae (seasoned dried laver), it's basically... a knockout.

The buttered scallops were savory and delicious too, but they got a bit overshadowed by how good the rice balls were.

I really thought I couldn't eat another bite, but the free extras just kept coming. Muscat cheese crackers, watermelon — they'll feed you until you literally burst!!!! I honestly can't tell if this is a great yakiniku spot in Uiwang or just a place that gives everything away...
Verdict: how does Yakiniku Pungyeong make any profit?

Final verdict: "Is the owner even making a profit here?"
This is on par with the 100,000-won-per-person hanwoo I once had on a trip. The beef quality is on another level. Great value for the price. Genuinely the number one beef restaurant I've eaten at in a long time. Number one. I doubt this record breaks anytime soon.
From the food quality to the owner's hospitality, I was just happy the entire time I was there. If you're looking for a great yakiniku restaurant near Baegun Lake in Uiwang, please... you have to... come here. Highly recommend!!!!! We spent the whole meal discussing when we'd come back haha.
That's it for this picky review, the end~
