Quiet dak hanmari restaurant in Migeum with buttery broth: Sugyeokok
In short
Sugyeokok Bundang Migeum (수계옥 미금본점) is a dak hanmari (whole chicken hot pot) restaurant about 449m from Exit 4 of Migeum Station in Bundang, Seongnam. On a cool autumn day, two of us shared the set of chicken neck nurungji porridge (scorched rice porridge), dak hanmari and 200g of kalguksu (knife-cut noodles), and the tender chicken, the nutty broth that tastes as if a little butter went in, and the homemade dipping sauce stood out, while the spacious dining room made it easy to talk over the meal. When you want a warming, filling bowl of hot broth, one set at Sugyeokok Bundang Migeum is all you need.

Today I wanted a warm, filling meal near Migeum Station, so I went to Sugyeokok Bundang Migeum (수계옥 분당미금본점).

These days, as mornings and evenings turn cooler, I keep craving soupy dishes like this. The restaurant had plenty of space and wasn't too crowded, so it was great for a slow meal with conversation. After eating, I felt properly nourished... haha.
Where is Sugyeokok Bundang Migeum and is there parking?
Sugyeokok Bundang Migeum is located on the 1st floor at 13-5 Migeum-illo 74beon-gil, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, about 449m from Exit 4 of Migeum Station — an easy walk. It's convenient for lunch or dinner plans nearby even without a car.

There's parking in front of the restaurant, but space isn't very generous, so if you're driving, I'd recommend calling ahead to check for availability.

The restaurant also has a separate waiting area, so it looked comfortable to wait there if there's a line.

Is the inside of Sugyeokok Bundang Migeum good for talking while eating?
Walking into Sugyeokok Bundang Migeum, there were more tables than I expected, and the spacing between seats wasn't cramped at all.

Best of all, the atmosphere wasn't too busy or loud, so it was really nice for chatting while eating!
They also have baby chairs ready, so it looked like a good spot for family meals or gatherings with kids, haha.

With plenty of tables, it seems fine whether you come as two people wanting a quiet meal or as a larger group.

There's also a separate waiting space before and after eating, which seemed like it would make things a bit easier for families visiting together.
What should two people order?
Sugyeokok is built around dak hanmari (whole chicken hot pot), with plenty of filling menu options.

Looking over the menu, we ordered the signature set that's good for two: chicken neck scorched rice porridge + dak hanmari + kalguksu (200g). It comes with everything from the porridge to the main dish to the noodles all in one, so we didn't need to add anything extra — it looked like just the right amount for two.
How was the chicken neck scorched rice porridge?
I took a first bite of Sugyeokok's chicken neck scorched rice porridge (닭목살누룽지죽), and it was surprisingly delicious. The seasoning wasn't too strong, just right and savory, so I kept reaching for more from the very first bite.

It had a warming quality to it, so it was nice to have before digging into the main dish.
How were the chicken and broth in the dak hanmari?
The chicken in Sugyeokok's dak hanmari was really tender.

It wasn't dry at all, so it was easy to eat comfortably, and the broth was refreshing from the very first spoonful, making me keep scooping it up. It was clean and refreshing, but by the end there was a light, savory flavor almost like a touch of butter had been added — the broth itself was quite appealing.

The kicker: the homemade dipping sauce
Personally, what I liked best about Sugyeokok's dak hanmari was the homemade dipping sauce!

You mix it yourself to your taste and eat it with the chicken — and this sauce is genuinely the highlight.

Eaten plain, you really taste the clean flavor of the chicken and broth, and dipped in the sauce, the flavor comes alive — going back and forth between the two was great, haha.
Finishing with kalguksu
And at the end, we finished it off with kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) added to the pot. Even though we were already pretty full from the chicken and porridge, adding the noodles to the hot broth made it feel like a proper complete meal. The portion was just right for two and really filling.
Sugyeokok Bundang Migeum set, overall
The Sugyeokok Bundang Migeum set starts with the scorched rice porridge, moves into the warm dak hanmari, and finishes with kalguksu — so even though it's technically one menu item, it feels like eating through a course, one dish at a time. You don't need to order a lot of extra sides to feel full as two people, which also made choosing simple.
Since everything flows naturally from start to finish within one set, this is the kind of place that comes to mind when I want a satisfying Korean meal. It seems especially well-suited to chilly days or times when you want to fill up on warm broth.
If you're looking for a Bundang Migeum restaurant or a Korean restaurant near Migeum Station where you can chat comfortably, give Sugyeokok a try — I left feeling like I'd properly filled up and nourished myself after a while, haha.
