What kind of brunch café is Sasaenghwal (사생활) in Dongnae?
Sasaenghwal is a Western-style brunch spot on the 2nd floor of a building near the market on Yeogo-ro in Dongnae. I found out about it last year thanks to my husband's frantic searching, and I've dropped by from time to time since. Today I headed out for a tasty lunch with friends! The entrance can be hard to find, so check the photo!
Sasaenghwal hours, parking and reservations
- Hours: daily 11 a.m.–9 p.m.
- Break time: 3–4 p.m.
- Last order: 8 p.m.
- Parking: you can park at the Dongyeong private parking lot, about a 5-minute walk away (1 hour covered)
- Baby chair available
It's usually busy and there may be a wait, so I recommend making a reservation and going with peace of mind.
What is the interior of Sasaenghwal like?

From the outside and the stairs, the building looks a bit old, so while climbing up I thought, "A brunch café in a place like this?" But once I opened the door, the interior felt really classy and pretty. That's Sasaenghwal, the brunch café in Dongnae!

It's great for brunch in the morning, but since they sell highballs, wine and beer, it's also worth recommending to anyone looking for a spot for daytime drinking, or to couples looking for an evening date place.
Sasaenghwal menu: new summer items and alcohol
The Sasaenghwal menu has a new summer item: salad pasta. It had been a while since my last visit, and the summer item that wasn't there before caught my eye. A salad pasta, perfect for summer!

Were there chop sticks (chopped steak sticks?) before..? Anyway, it looks delicious, so let's order!

Sasaenghwal has a wide range of drinks, and alcohol too. For people who love daytime drinking, there's no better place, haha. Wine is also sold by the glass, so sip sip.
Chop steak, mini salad and countryside oil pasta with friends
For this Sasaenghwal lunch, we ordered the chop steak, the mini salad, and my favorite, the countryside oil pasta (시골오일파스타).

It was my first time trying the chop steak and it was really good. The meat isn't tough, and the mushrooms, grilled as if fried, and the mashed potatoes go so well with the rich cream sauce. A must-order next time!! Highly recommended.

The mini salad was so big I wondered if it was a main dish.

The countryside oil pasta has a nice slight spiciness. You mix it with perilla leaves, and it's not greasy at all and delicious.

Daytime drinking at Sasaenghwal: a glass of beer
And of course, daytime drinking is a must! It was so hot out that I was dying for a beer, haha. Even the glass is pretty, haha.
What we ate on a date with my husband at Sasaenghwal
The menu photos below are ones I took when I went on a date to Sasaenghwal with my husband a while ago, and I'm adding them here, haha.

You have to try the Sasaenghwal vanilla latte
Iced Americano is normally the golden rule for brunch, but the Sasaenghwal vanilla latte doesn't taste of cheap syrup, so it's really good! If you come to Sasaenghwal, I recommend trying the vanilla latte too!!

Sirloin cream risotto, arrabbiata tomato pasta and honey butter fries
That time we ordered the sirloin cream risotto, the arrabbiata tomato pasta, and honey butter fries as a side! Despite the price and the name saying side, the honey butter fries came out in almost main-dish portions, haha. It was just the two of us, and I thought my stomach would burst. Totally satisfied!

The arrabbiata tomato pasta is slightly spicy, with charming plump shrimp.

A risotto of tender sirloin and cream. They sprinkled the Parmesan cheese generously too!

My husband's review: the honey butter fries aren't greasy and not too sweet, so they were easy to eat. I keep thinking about that taste. Honestly, if there had been more of us, I'd have loved to order a wider variety. Sasaenghwal seems like it would be good whatever you order!

Can you go with kids? What payment methods work?
If you visit Sasaenghwal with a child, the katsu (breaded cutlet) dishes are a good thing to order for them, so keep that in mind! They also have a baby chair.
Maybe because Sasaenghwal is located near the market, both the Livelihood Recovery Support Fund and the Sangsaeng Payback could be used, and you can also pay with Onnuri and Dongbaekjeon (Busan's local currency card).
What kind of gathering suits Sasaenghwal in Dongnae?
I was satisfied with everything at Sasaenghwal: the taste, the interior and the service. They also sell highballs, beer and soju, so it's a great Dongnae brunch café for all sorts of groups, whether friend meetups, dates or company dinners. Highly recommended!
