What does Hyeonseonine tteokbokki taste like?

The tteokbokki at Hyeonseonine Yongsan Main Branch had a rich gochujang (red chili paste) sauce, with a nice balance of sweet and spicy! The rice cakes were chewy and there was plenty of fish cake, so it tasted familiar but kept me coming back for more. It isn't harsh or over-seasoned, so it's easy to eat, haha. Good good.

The red broth looked so appetizing, and when I tried it, it wasn't just spicy. The sauce was sweet with a savory depth, so I kept reaching for more! The rice cakes were springy and chewy, and the generous fish cake made me happy. The broth was thick too, perfect for dipping gimbap or sundae.

Dipping sundae and mini gimbap in tteokbokki sauce

The sundae in the combo set was moist and chewy, with no off smell. Dipped in the tteokbokki broth, the combination was really great! It went so well with the tteokbokki that I kept going back for more.

The gimbap was better than I expected too. It was packed with fillings, so it had a satisfying bite, and dipping it in the tteokbokki broth gave off real snack-bar vibes! It looks simple, but I thought it was gimbap with solid basics.

Fish cake and assorted fried snacks

The fish cake in the combo, eaten with its warm broth, felt soothing on the stomach. The broth was clean-tasting, so it was nice to alternate with the tteokbokki!

Finally, the assorted fried snacks. I loved the crispy batter! Both the gimmari (glass noodle seaweed roll) and the vegetable fritter were crisp without feeling greasy, and dipped in the tteokbokki broth they were even better.
