On an evening dinner out, the writer ordered a cheeseburger, a bacon cheeseburger, a chicken burger, 18 Fries and a Zero Cola, and appreciated that Daily Fix Euljiro offers drink refills. Verdict: the bacon cheeseburger with 18 Fries is the combo most worth ordering at Daily Fix Euljiro.

Sangam-dong pizza date: Snug Classica and Pepperoni at Pizzeria Snug

Pizzeria Snug is a wood-fired pizza and pasta restaurant near Digital Media City Station in Sangam-dong, Mapo, Seoul. Yeouido kaisendon spot: weekday lunch for two & red shrimp, Ilpum

Ilpum Yeouido Branch (일품 여의도점) is a kaisendon (Japanese seafood rice bowl) and sushi restaurant on basement level 1 of Anwon Building, 25 Eunhaeng-ro, Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. On a weekday lunch, a kaisendon-loving couple ordered 2 kaisendon plus single pieces of red shrimp and vinegared shrimp. They enjoyed how the meal flowed like a course, with seaweed, gamtae, miso soup, chawanmushi, udon and mango mochi tofu for dessert. Ilpum Yeouido Branch is well worth it for seafood lovers wanting a special lunch or a date spot.

Sangam shabu kalguksu date spot with the friendliest staff: Deungchon

Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu Sangam Branch (등촌샤브칼국수 상암점) is a shabu-shabu and kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Woori Technology Building in Sangam-dong, Mapo, Seoul. On a second date visit with her boyfriend, the writer ordered spicy mushroom shabu-shabu kalguksu for two plus one extra serving of shabu beef for 33,000 won in total, enjoyed the full course of shabu-shabu, kalguksu and fried rice, and found the staff at the Sangam Branch noticeably friendlier than at other branches. For spicy broth with genuinely kind service, Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu Sangam Branch is a good choice.

Gangneung tofu restaurant, fresh tofu perilla pork wraps: Jeong Eunsuk

Jeong Eunsuk Chodang Sundubu (정은숙초당순두부) is a soft tofu restaurant in Chodang Village, Gangneung, run by Korean Master Chef No. 48. On a trip to Gangneung, the writer ordered the Chodang Premium Table for 2 (₩25,000 per person), which brought a mild soft tofu hot pot, perilla leaf wraps of fresh tofu and boiled pork, and sweet-spicy kodari gangjeong (fried semi-dried pollock). The Chodang Premium Table at Jeong Eunsuk Chodang Sundubu is a generous meal with a story behind it, a good fit for Gangneung travelers.

Gangneung gift shop: crumb-free persimmon & corn sand—Gangneung Sand

Gangneung Sand Main Branch is a sand cookie souvenir shop in Seonggok-dong, Gangneung, and is said to have won gold in 2022 and silver in 2025 at the Gangneung City tourist souvenir contest. On the last day of a Gangneung trip, the writer bought the Gangneung Sand dried persimmon and Chodang corn flavors at 17,000 won each and checked the cherry blossom pink box, the individual wrapping and the crumb-free texture firsthand.
