Jamsilsaenae shaved pork buffet, Haidilao-style sauce bar: Muhan Paldo
In short
Muhan Paldo Daepae Jamsilsaenae Branch (무한팔도대패 잠실새내점) is an all-you-can-eat shaved pork (daepae) BBQ restaurant on the main street near Exit 3 of Jamsilsaenae Station in Songpa, Seoul, costing 18,900 won per person. The writer grilled 6 kinds of shaved meat with makjang dipping sauce from the sauce bar, then had soupy tteokbokki and slushies from the self-bar and unlimited ramyeon, and the all-you-can-eat format did not mean poor meat quality. If a lively, noisy room is fine with you, Muhan Paldo Daepae is a good-value Korean BBQ spot worth a return visit whenever you crave daepae.

Muhan Paldo Daepae Jamsilsaenae Branch: location and hours
Muhan Paldo Daepae Jamsilsaenae Branch is near Exit 3 of Jamsilsaenae Station on Line 2, and it's open daily 11:00-24:00. There's no parking.

Some days you just crave thin-sliced daepae (shaved pork) instead of thick cuts.. and you have to feed that craving regularly! Muhan Paldo Daepae is on Jamsilsaenae's main street, so I'd walked past it a ton, and one day I got a sudden revelation from the daepae gods and went.

What's the atmosphere like at Muhan Paldo Daepae?
It's really, really crowded and rowdy. I never expected this many people! The ages range from kids to adults, and plenty of tables are groups drinking together. It's not a quiet place, so keep that in mind!
Muhan Paldo Daepae prices and time limit
The all-you-can-eat deal is ₩18,900 per person, and side dishes run about ₩3,000-5,900.

- All-you-can-eat: ₩18,900 per person
- Unlimited soju: ₩5,900
- Cold noodles (water/spicy mixed): ₩4,000
- Bomb steamed egg: ₩4,000
- Doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew): ₩3,000
The buffet price is cheap, and the cold noodles and doenjang jjigae are super cheap too!!!

The time limit is 120 minutes on weekdays and 100 minutes on weekends. They stick to it strictly! Staff come by 10 minutes before the end to tell you there are 10 minutes left. But daepae cooks so fast that it's more than enough time.

Meat types and quality at Muhan Paldo Daepae
There are 6 kinds of meat: Handon (Korean pork) shaved pork, shaved beef brisket, shaved pork neck, frozen pork belly, shaved pork belly and flower pork belly.

Honestly, I assumed that since it's an all-you-can-eat place the meat quality would be so-so, but that prejudice is totally gone. It doesn't have that dry, crumbly feel shaved pork belly often has, and looks like it's kept fresh, right?

Which sauce should you pick at the Muhan Paldo Daepae sauce bar?
Muhan Paldo Daepae has an almost Haidilao-level sauce bar, and my pick was the makjang sauce (a thick, savory fermented soybean dip)✨ It has the best balance of flavors. I got my sauces sorted before I even started grilling, haha. There's such a wide variety that you can choose to suit your taste, and it keeps you from getting sick of the meat!

What's at the Muhan Paldo Daepae self-bar?
The self-bar has a variety of vegetables, plus things you can grill like tteok (rice cakes), mushrooms, sausages, bracken and bean sprouts. Everything you need for eating meat was there.

Self-bar soupy tteokbokki
There's tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) at the self-bar too, and it's secretly really good?? I only grabbed a little to taste it, but ended up going back for refills twice, haha. It's not very spicy, more the sweet, soupy style of a snack shop outside an elementary school, so it goes down easily in unlimited quantities, hahaha. Kids would probably love it too, haha.

Slushies instead of drinks
I also liked that the self-bar has a slushie, so you don't have to order drinks separately. Honestly I'm someone who prefers slushies over regular drinks,, it's refreshing, and having it between bites of meat wipes out the greasy feeling~~

Grilling daepae and the kimchi and bean sprout wrap combo
The daepae cooks quickly and had no gamey smell at all. Okay, let's put the meat on.

As expected, daepae cooks fast, and the pile building up is beautiful. I'm sensitive to meat smells, but there was no gamey smell at all. The crispy outside from the high heat and the juicy inside are a perfect match🫶 I put napa cabbage kimchi and bean sprouts on the lower part of the grill to sizzle in the meat fat, then wrapped it all up with a generous helping of pajeori (seasoned scallion salad), and it was a dreamy combo💗

Is the ramyeon at Muhan Paldo Daepae all-you-can-eat too?
Yes, ramyeon (instant noodles) is included in the all-you-can-eat, and there are lots of kinds.. does the owner have money to spare?;; When you start to feel a bit full midway, bring it down with ramyeon. You know a bowl of ramyeon resets your stomach, right?? Round 2 can begin.

Fried rice, morning rolls and whether I'd go back
You can also get fried rice and morning rolls (soft bread rolls) at Muhan Paldo Daepae, but I was too full and gave up, sob. Not having fried rice after daepae makes me feel like a total amateur, so I have nothing to say, T_T On days you want to line your stomach with plenty of daepae, I'd run here without a second thought. 200% chance I'll go back. I recommend Muhan Paldo Daepae Jamsilsaenae Branch💖
