Today's post is a review of Kosi Konkuk University Branch, famous as a Konkuk Univ. Japanese food spot for its chewy house-made udon and handmade pork katsu!

I fell head over heels after my first visit, and this was already my third time coming back haha

This time I ordered a combo of the solid-gold menu I had last visit plus a highly-reviewed dish, so read to the end and take my menu recommendations with you 🤍

Kosi, a Konkuk Univ. favorite, is just a 4-minute walk from Exit 9 of Konkuk University Station toward Common Ground, so it's really accessible! Parking is especially tough around Konkuk Univ., but here you can park for 1 hour free in the lot in front of or behind the building, so it's easy even if you're driving in.

Kosi Konkuk University Branch's interior is spacious and kept clean with 52 seats, and every table has a tablet so you can order and pay all in one go 👍

What to order at Kosi on a third visit
I came with my sister and ordered like this~
- Tori-ten bukkake udon set (₩15,000)
- Half-and-half katsu (₩13,000)
- Sweet potato cheese croquette 2p (₩3,500)
- Inari sushi 2p (₩2,000)
- Pepsi Zero (₩2,000)

Tori-ten bukkake udon set, 15,000 won
First up is the tori-ten bukkake udon set that had me completely hooked last time - !! Order the set menu and you get a side of tempura too 🍤

There's a sickness that only hits people who've had this place's udon — the house-made noodles are just on a completely different level.. The chewy texture of the fresh noodles is honestly superb.. It's cold udon so you mix in as much tsuyu (dipping sauce) as you like

And another kicker is the crispy-outside-juicy-inside fried chicken thigh! It's so good I wondered if this was secretly a fried chicken specialist haha The other pieces of tempura that came with the set were also crisp like they'd just been fried, and I enjoyed every single one 💛

Half-and-half katsu, 13,000 won: pork loin katsu plus cheese katsu
Next up is the half-and-half katsu! This place is actually really famous as a Konkuk Univ. katsu (pork cutlet) spot, but I hadn't tried the katsu menu until now ^_^ So today I ordered the full combo of pork loin katsu + cheese katsu 🫡

The pork loin katsu had thick meat with a thin batter, so it paired best with salt + wasabi, and the cheese katsu — you can see the cheese stretching, right? •• The cheese was so soft it didn't harden quickly! I could immediately see why this place is famous for katsu near Konkuk Univ. ㅠ

Sweet potato cheese croquette, 2 pieces for 3,500 won
Next is the sweet potato cheese croquette I ordered as a side! I've had plenty of sweet potato croquettes that look like this before, but this one has actual cheese!!! melted right in the middle, so it melted away in my mouth ㅜㅜ Genuinely delicious 🍠

Inari sushi, 2 pieces for 2,000 won
And the inari sushi (seasoned fried tofu pocket sushi) my sister loved so much last time! It's definitely a familiar flavor, but it's savory and mellow and delicious >_<
