Yangyang café with electric boat rides: Cafe Dunchi

Cafe Dunchi is a floating café on Namdaecheon Stream in Yangyang, Gangwon, where I had coffee and rode an electric boat with my 18-month-old during a family trip. The boat was easy to operate even on a cloudy day, and the spacious parking lot, baby life jacket, and blankets made the visit comfortable.

Yangyang Korean barbecue lunch special: Yeoyejeong

Yeoyejeong is a Korean barbecue and Korean restaurant in Yangyang, Gangwon, where I had the ₩13,000 marinated galbi, sotbap, and doenjang-jjigae lunch special along with galbitang. I missed the salt-aged grilled meat because I arrived after the meat-order cutoff, but the tidy side dishes, sticky rice, and generously portioned galbitang still made for a satisfying first meal of the trip.

Cafe Dunchi is a riverside café in Yangyang, Gangwon, about a five-minute drive from Naksan Beach. I had hibiscus iced tea and an iced latte, then took an electric boat onto Namdaecheon. The boat was easy to operate, though the chilly, overcast weather made the view less satisfying.

Yangyang meat restaurant for chewy pork jowl: Yeoyejeong

Yeoyejeong is a standalone meat restaurant in Seom-myeon, Yangyang, Gangwon, where I ordered fresh galbi and pork jowl while traveling. The bouncy, chewy pork jowl stood out, while the ₩1,000 sotbap and tangy-sweet white kimchi noodles were satisfying too. It was busy from early evening, with some parties leaving when it filled up.
