Matbaegogi is a Hanwoo restaurant serving Gangwon Hanwoo beef as barbecue and as Korean set meals, opened as a collaboration between Korean cuisine master Lee Jeong-hyeon, Gangwon Hanwoo, and art director Jang Su-yeong. Matbaegogi uses only 28–30-month-old steers selected by the Gangwon Hanwoo cooperative from Gangwon Hanwoo, a beef that has received the Presidential Award premium certification three times in a row, and says it keeps prices lower by cutting distribution steps. In the evening Matbaegogi serves Hanwoo sets of sirloin, tenderloin and assorted cuts, and at lunch it serves Korean set meals such as Pyongyang naengmyeon, river snail doenjang stew and Hanwoo bulgogi.

The interior of Matbaegogi reinterprets elements of traditional knots, fabric, bojagi wrapping cloths and norigae ornaments in a modern way, and the façade is finished with mother-of-pearl. Matbaegogi also has private rooms suitable for company dinners and gatherings.
