Bueokgan Suwan Branch: Why I Keep Coming Back

Exterior of Bueokgan Suwan Branch

If you are looking for a restaurant with a great atmosphere in Suwan District, I recommend Bueokgan Suwan Branch (부엌간 수완점). This was not my first visit—I have been here many times over the years, so I am practically a regular. I have tried almost everything on the menu, and it is not simply a place with one standout dish; the quality is consistently good across the menu, so I leave happy every time!

Interior of Bueokgan Suwan Branch

The exterior is really pretty, but the interior is even prettier once you step inside. Colorful furniture and stylish lighting are placed throughout, and the overall mood is warm yet refined, making it great for photos too. Even after several visits, I find myself thinking every time that the space is beautiful.

Along with regular tables, there are bar tables, so it is nice for a casual meal for two. Wine is available by the glass as well as by the bottle, making it easy to enjoy a drink with your food.

That makes it a versatile spot for brunch, dates, wedding-invitation gatherings, and family meals.

Basil Margherita Pizza and Seafood Tomato Pasta

And the biggest reason I keep returning to Bueokgan Suwan Branch is, of course, the food. I have tried so many things here—pastry soup, pasta, lasagna, pizza, pilaf, and more—but this time I ordered the seafood tomato pasta and basil Margherita pizza.

I remembered loving the basil pizza before, and I was just as satisfied this time. The basil aroma was so rich and fresh that I thought, “Can basil really taste this good?” haha. The dough was chewy too, so I enjoyed it right through to the crust.

Chewy Pizza Dough All the Way to the Crust

The pizza dough is especially chewy. When dough is too thick or dry, I often leave the crust behind, but Bueokgan's pizza stays chewy right to the edge, so you naturally finish it all. With basil sauce, cheese, tomatoes, and arugula together, it never felt heavy and I kept reaching for more. We ate it slice by slice and it disappeared in no time!!

Tomato Pasta Loaded with Seafood

The seafood tomato pasta was generously portioned too, with plenty of seafood including clams. So many restaurants serve a tiny amount of pasta, but Bueokgan really, really gives you plenty, and I was totally satisfied,,,!!! The tomato sauce was neither overly sour nor harsh, but nicely rich, so it paired well with the seafood. It soaked into the noodles beautifully, making every last bite delicious. (Anyone could tell it was homemade sauce.)

That day, I also ordered a glass of white wine with the food, and it went especially well with the basil pizza.

Bueokgan Suwan Branch has such a nice atmosphere for lingering over a meal with a glass of wine, which is probably why I find myself coming back more often.

Suwan Branch Atmosphere and Visit Information

Each Bueokgan branch has a slightly different spatial concept, and the Suwan Branch was designed as a brunch restaurant in an Italian forest. I have been many times, but what I feel on every visit is that the interior is truly beautiful. Green park scenery is visible through the floor-to-ceiling windows, while stylish furniture and lighting from brands such as Artek, Vitra, and Louis Poulsen fill the interior. It is lovely during the day, and the mood changes again in the evening.

Hours are 11:00–21:00 daily, with a break from 15:00–17:00 and last orders at 20:00. You can park on the road in front of the restaurant, and because it sits slightly away from the center of Suwan District's busy area, parking is relatively easy.

My regular restaurant that continues to satisfy me, even after many visits :) The atmosphere is pretty and the food is delicious, so it is easy to recommend even to first-time visitors haha. I was happy again this time, and I plan to come back to try another menu item next time :)
