A Seoul Botanic Park pork cutlet spot near Magok Station

I got off work late again today, and when I looked for somewhere to eat before heading out, there was a great pork cutlet place nearby!? So I went straight over, haha. But as I ate, it felt like such a good value that I wanted to share it with you right away!!

Tteudon Magok Branch (뜨돈 마곡점) is known as a great restaurant near Seoul Botanic Park, and it turned out to be really close to my workplace!! I started from Balsan, and I think it took about 10 minutes on foot? It is also only about a 3-minute walk from Magok Station, so the access was very, very good, haha.

Tteudon, a popular spot near Seoul Botanic Park, was on the second floor. When I arrived out front, it looked like they had recently introduced some new menu items too!! I like mala quite a bit, so I wanted to try those next time, haha. Mala pasta and udon—I was so curious about the taste that I debated it for ages...! But I came here wanting pork cutlet today, haha, so I’ll take on those another time~! Please refer to the photo for business hours!

The restaurant was really spacious, with a variety of tables for 2 to 6 people. Since it is near Magok, I think it would be a nice place to visit with coworkers, haha. They also have a ₩1,000 weekday lunch discount event, so do stop by!!

A varied menu, from pork cutlets to udon sets

The menu has the signature Tteudon made with pork loin, along with sweet potato cheese, chicken cutlet, curry cutlet, spicy buldak cutlet, and lots of other flavors! There is also pasta, udon, fried rice, seasonal kongguksu (cold noodles in soy milk broth), and udon sets with a variety of items!! There are plenty of unusual options too, so it would be nice to come as a group and enjoy different dishes.

Also, if you join the receipt-review event, they give you a soft drink or cheese balls, so it seems worth taking part. Each table even has instructions for enjoying the food deliciously, haha. You can make a burger with a dinner roll and pork cutlet too..! I never would have imagined that... The owner really knows good food, don’t they!?

An unlimited self bar with tteokbokki and dinner rolls

Next is the highlight of Tteudon, a popular spot near Seoul Botanic Park: the self bar~! Along with various side dishes, they offered unlimited tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and dinner rolls too!! Dinner rolls spread with strawberry jam are seriously delicious, you know, haha. I think this might be the absolute best setup for people with big appetites, haha. Owner... are you really making any profit...?

Thick and crisp Korean-style Western pork cutlet

After looking around the self bar, the Korean-style Western pork cutlet I ordered came out quickly. The corn, cabbage salad, and thick pork cutlet really stood out!

I immediately tried it together with the food I had picked up from the self bar~!

It already looked thick at first, but once I cut into it, the meat was truly substantial!! It stayed crisp and had a lovely chew too, so I had a really delicious meal, haha.

For parking, they provide 2 hours if you let them know in advance, so keep that in mind!!

Ice cream to continue after the meal

Wait, but when I was about to leave, the self bar was not over...? They also offered ice cream like this for guests who had finished their meal, and both eating in and takeout were possible! There were four flavors—yogurt, chocolate, matcha, and strawberry—so it was fun choosing one too, haha. You should visit Tteudon, the generous Seoul Botanic Park favorite, sometime!
