I went to Hantiok (한티옥), a spot known for tender bossam at Lotte Mall Gimpo Airport! After looking around the mall, we had everything from bossam to spicy pork ssambap—such a satisfying Korean meal 💨💨

Getting to Hantiok at Lotte Mall Gimpo Airport and parking
It is on B2 at 38 Haneul-gil, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, and is said to be 538 m from Exit 2 of Gimpo Airport Station.

If you are taking Line 9 to Gimpo Airport Station, come toward Exit 3! Once you enter Lotte Mall and see the information desk right away, you are on the right track :)
From the entrance, the information desk is on the right. Head straight left and you will see clothing stores including Nike; keep going and you will reach the restaurant area!

One of those restaurants is Hantiok at Lotte Mall Gimpo Airport! Hantiok is a place for warming gukbap (rice in soup) and guksu (noodle soup), with a tradition said to begin with a grandmother who ran a gukbap restaurant at Pungyang Traditional Market in Yecheon, Gyeongbuk, in 1970..

You can scan the signature dishes from outside!

Hantiok values the grandmother's belief that “honesty is the iron rule of the food business,” as she cared for solo diners as though feeding her own family. Her father carried on that spirit and her home-style cooking, they say. It is also a place where solo diners can try a variety of dishes!
For parking, use the building's paid parking lot. The first 60 minutes cost ₩6,000, each additional 60 minutes costs ₩6,000, and the maximum is ₩50,000 :)
Table ordering and seating atmosphere
Order on the tablet at each table, and you can also view the menu by QR code!

There is plenty of seating extending far into the restaurant, with lots of four-person tables. It is nice for families stopping by after exploring Lotte Mall, as well as visits with coworkers or friends.

There are two-person seats too, so it is good for eating alone or for couples on a date :) There is also a room inside that seats up to six, and I really liked its quiet, comfortable atmosphere. Keep it in mind if you would like to dine privately! High chairs are available too, so it is good for visiting with children.

Every table had cups, water, salt, and pepper, while utensils and tissues were kept hygienically in the table drawer.
Hantiok menu and what we ordered
There is a wide range of Korean rice and noodle dishes: Andong guksu, Andong gukbap, Korean beef gomtang, Korean beef seolleongtang, gondre rice, spicy pork ssambap, makguksu, kongguksu, bossam, and Korean beef neungi mushroom suyuk. Set meals are also available for a hearty, generous spread: the bossam set, suyuk set, and Hantiok set.
The bossam set is available from two orders and includes salad, tofu, dumplings, bossam, and your choice of guksu or gukbap.
Andong guksu is described as a dish from the noble households of the Andong area, made with Grade 1++ Korean beef broth. Andong gukbap is said to have a deep flavor from Grade 1++ Korean beef, bean sprouts, dried napa cabbage greens, and green onion. Korean beef gomtang is a clear soup with boiled Grade 1+ or higher brisket and shiitake mushrooms, while Korean beef seolleongtang is made by simmering beef bones and mixed bones for 36 hours with beef brisket.
The spicy pork stir-fry has a smoky flavor from Hantiok's special sauce. The menu notes that gondre rice is rich in protein, calcium, and vitamin A and may help lower cholesterol, circulation, and constipation. Makguksu sets, large dumplings, and handmade tofu are available too.

Spicy pork ssambap with seolleongtang broth, too
Spicy pork ssambap ₩14,000

It comes with spicy stir-fried pork, rice, lettuce wraps, and seolleongtang broth. It was so generous—getting seolleongtang when you order spicy pork already made it feel different from other places.

The spicy pork was not hot, so I think everyone could enjoy it, and each piece of meat was tender and generously sized. There were plenty of big onion pieces too, which made both the texture and flavor so good.

The broth that came with it! It seems like the kind of dish normally sold on its own, so having it included made the meal even tastier and more abundant, haha.

I especially prefer a rich, milky-white beef soup like this over clear gomtang, so it was exactly my style. It was even better with just a little pepper from the table! The meat is seriously huge lol. With warm white rice, it was the kind of flavor that makes a bowl of rice disappear in no time..! I could taste the chili oil, and the savory depth was sooo good 👍🏻
Tender medium bossam and bossam kimchi
Bossam (medium) ₩27,000
The bossam, with tender fat and lean meat in a golden ratio, comes with bossam kimchi and a variety of side dishes.

Maybe because it was the medium size, but the meat was large and thick with quite a few pieces. The bossam kimchi was clumped together at first, but once I loosened it up (?) there was a huge amount. The kimchi had rich seasoning and crunchy radish, making it a perfect match for the mild bossam.

The bossam arrived piping hot! It is great as a shared dish at lunch, and a nice drinking snack with a glass in the evening.

It comes with salted shrimp, garlic, chili peppers, and ssamjang (savory soybean dipping paste). Personally, I recommend tasting the first bite simply with salted shrimp so you can really get the meat's flavor! The garlic and peppers were not spicy either, so I wrapped them up with the meat, hehe.

Hantiok says it carefully selects only fresh, high-quality ingredients and prepares every side dish and dish entirely by hand. Maybe that is why none of the side dishes were overly salty—they were seasoned just right. Restaurant perilla leaves are usually super salty, but these had only minimal seasoning, so I could wrap up the bossam and eat kimchi with it too 👍🏻👍🏻

The ratio of meat to fat was just right, without leaning too far either way! Too much fat is tender, but I try to avoid it for health reasons, so this was perfect.

This bossam was perfect with warm white rice and richly seasoned bossam kimchi. Since the meat itself is unseasoned, it is also good to eat with children!

The wraps were so fresh, in perfect bite-size portions for making ssambap (rice wrapped in greens)! The lettuce was tender too, ideal for wraps.
Large dumplings, 3 pieces ₩6,000
These large dumplings looked so moist that I could not not order them. They would be delicious dropped into beef bone gomtang too! The dumpling skin was chewy, and the filling was packed with meat, chives, and glass noodles. I also loved that a separate dumpling soy sauce was provided!! 👍🏻
