What is the texture of HEEDA Charcoal Cleansing Balm like?

Since we are a household that worries about blackheads, we have always kept cleansing balms on hand. I have tried cleansing oils, waters, and lotions too, but I found myself looking for cleansing balms again, which is when I tried this product.

Despite its name, both the packaging and the product itself were black. The design continued inside the box, and the lid has a place to attach and store the spatula, so it was easy to tidy up after use.

How smoothly did it glide over makeup?

When I first worked it over the back of my hand, the particles felt fine and smooth. Even though it contains charcoal, its creamy, silky feel was impressive.

For light makeup, I used about one-third of a spatulaful, and that amount was enough for me. It melted softly on contact with my skin, making it easy to massage in even with a small amount.

I removed my base makeup first and my lips last. Because the formula is black, my lip color did not look as though it had smeared onto the surrounding skin, which felt different from how lip products usually leave a reddish-looking smear when I remove them.

How did it feel after emulsifying with water?

Spread evenly over a dry face and massage the areas of concern, then emulsify with water and cleanse thoroughly.

I lightly wet my hands, emulsified it, and massaged thoroughly before cleansing with water alone. My face was dry at the time, so I only did a first cleanse, but it finished feeling moisturized without excessive oiliness or a lingering residue.

Since my daughter wears sunscreen every day, I make sure we keep up with cleansing together. This was a useful experience to keep in mind for families concerned about blackheads who want to remove makeup with a gentle balm formula.
