What is this Seochon alley brunch café like?

Respire Bakery Cafe Seochon is tucked into a Seochon alley within walking distance of Gyeongbokgung Station! Step just a little away from the busy streets and the atmosphere becomes wonderfully relaxed, making it nice to visit as part of a stroll. The white exterior pairs beautifully with warm wood details, and it was such a photogenic space from the entrance onward.

A warm, inviting interior

As soon as I opened the door, the cozy atmosphere caught my eye. The wood-toned interior came together beautifully and felt comfortable, while the little objects placed around the room added even more character to the space.

The terrace seats that catch the sunlight were the most popular. The atmosphere is also perfect for a date.

There’s a second floor, too! Haha

What kinds of salt bread are there?

Alongside the brunch menu, there was also a wide selection of sogeumppang (salt bread). Mentaiko potato, garlic cream cheese, condensed milk cream, and more—all of them looked so appetizing~~ that it was hard to decide what to choose.

Quite a few customers were taking baked goods to go, which made it clear that this is a popular bakery.

This time, I ordered the French toast and an iced Americano.

French toast and iced Americano

The French toast was nicely browned on the outside and moist inside, with a lovely texture.

It was so soft and fluffy—the texture was absolutely wonderful~!! Haha

It was even better dipped in the ice cream~

The figs served alongside it added sweetness and freshness, and I found it very satisfying as a brunch dish.

The iced Americano had a clean taste that paired well with brunch, and having dessert along with it made the meal feel wonderfully unhurried.

What I liked after visiting

  • The atmosphere lets you feel the distinctive charm of Seochon’s alleyways.
  • You can enjoy both brunch and baked goods, so there are plenty of choices.
  • The interior was quiet and pleasant, making it nice for conversation.
  • The food was beautifully plated and satisfying to photograph.
  • It is in a great location to combine with a walk around Gyeongbokgung or Seochon.

I could enjoy brunch at a relaxed pace in this atmospheric space, and both the food and the setting left a great impression. If you are planning a Gyeongbokgung date or a day out in Seochon, it is a place worth stopping by at least once.
