My straight hair sticks out in every direction each morning, then quickly falls flat even when I use products. I booked Juno Hair Guwol-dong Rodeo Branch (준오헤어 구월동로데오점) because I wanted a recommendation for a style that would be easy to manage after washing my hair.

Where is the salon, and how do reservations and parking work?
The salon is on the third floor of the Link 126 building on Guwol-dong Rodeo Street. The original post listed its hours as 10:00–19:30, and reservations could be made through the Juno Hair app or Naver. Parking was listed as free for the first 60 minutes, then ₩2,000 per additional 60 minutes, up to ₩20,000.
Can you get a consultation without deciding on a style first?
When I arrived, they looked after my belongings and helped me put on a gown. The waiting table was large and comfortable, and the salon felt pleasant.

Once seated, I talked about the style I wanted and my usual concerns. I had not settled on a specific style, but when I said that my hair is straight and I wanted something easy to manage after washing it, they made a recommendation accordingly.

During the consultation, they recommended an iron perm because it would help the curls last. I liked that they chose a style after also asking about my habit of touching my hair often.

How were the shampoo area and services while waiting during the treatment?
Before the treatment, I had my hair washed in a private area. I was also happy with the scalp massage.

After shampooing, there was also a long seating area for waiting during the down perm and heat perm. While I waited, I was given an egg, biscuits, and coffee, as well as a charger and phone stand. I could watch videos while waiting, so I did not get bored.

There was also a kids’ zone, so I thought it could be suitable for visiting with a child.

What events were advertised during my visit?
A Google review event and an autumn promotion were advertised during my visit. For the review event, I was told that you had to leave a review using three photos and a prompt supplied by the salon. The prizes were listed as 650 ml of shampoo for first place, a styling product worth around ₩40,000 for second place, and 320 ml of shampoo for third place.

The autumn promotion said that payments of ₩200,000 or more with Toss Face Pay from Sep 1 to Sep 30 could receive up to 27% off. Both events were advertised at the time the original post was written.

Why was an iron perm recommended for my straight hair?
I had tried a shadow perm several times, but this was my first iron perm. The stylist explained that, rather than wrapping the hair around rods like a regular perm, an iron perm shapes the curls with a curling iron. They recommended it because the curls would last better on my straight hair.

What was the iron-perm process, and how long did it take?
This appointment took about two hours, from 12:00 to 14:00. First, they put a hair cap on me and gave me a basic cut.

After the cut, they did a down perm and a softening treatment.

After that, I received heat treatment for about 15 minutes. They checked from time to time that the perm and heat treatment were progressing well. Once the heat treatment was done, they shaped the curls with an iron.

Was it easy to style at home after the treatment?
At the end, they explained in detail how to style my hair and apply products. Since the style had been recommended with my daily habits in mind, I was able to style it at home on my own in the way I had learned.

I was able to chat comfortably with the staff during the treatment, so the roughly two hours did not feel long. It was my first iron perm, and I was pleased with the result—especially with being able to get a consultation without having decided on a style and then learn how to style it.
