Korean beef bulgogi restaurant in Michuhol, Incheon: Dongchuwon
In short
Dongchuwon Bulgogi is a Korean beef bulgogi restaurant near the Incheon District Court in Hakik-dong, Michuhol, Incheon. I ordered three ₩25,000 servings of Korean beef bulgogi and ₩24,000 minari yukhoe, then made bulgogi sandwiches with morning rolls, cheese, and mustard sauce. Recommended for family meals or group gatherings that want generous bulgogi and a broth that grows richer as it cooks.

Dongchuwon Bulgogi near Singi Market in Hakik-dong

I heard there was a place near Incheon’s Singi Market known for its mountain-sized bulgogi, so I went to try it. This was Dongchuwon Bulgogi (동추원불고기), which I sought out because it serves Korean beef bulgogi piled high like a mountain and is also said to have good yukhoe.
A great place near Singi Market in Hakik-dong, Incheon! Mountain-sized Korean beef bulgogi and yukhoe, too

Dongchuwon Bulgogi is on the first floor at 67 Hangikso-ro, Michuhol-gu, Incheon. It operates daily from 11:00 to 21:30, with last orders at 20:30. The restaurant says it provides 1 hour and 30 minutes of parking support for dish orders and 30 minutes for meal orders when using Seonjeong Parking Lot opposite the restaurant or a public parking lot. Since I planned to eat slowly, there also seemed to be plenty of places to park along the road.

Dongchuwon Bulgogi is a bulgogi restaurant near the Incheon District Court in Hakik-dong, Incheon. It is said to have been selected for the Blue Ribbon five times, and because it is run by a master in the meat category, it is also known as a place for gatherings.

A space with a dining hall, private rooms, and meal kits
With both a dining hall and private rooms, it looked good for gatherings, and there were indeed many families dining there. The restaurant also sold meal kits such as suyuk seuji-tang (boiled beef and tendon soup) for ₩6,600 and braised beef short ribs for ₩9,900, and I was a little disappointed that I did not buy any. Reviews said they were tasty.

Ordering Korean beef bulgogi and minari yukhoe
I heard that the best-known item is Korean beef bulgogi, Seoul-style soupy bulgogi. Wanting to start with the most popular item, I ordered three servings of Korean beef bulgogi à la carte at ₩25,000 each and Korean beef minari yukhoe at ₩24,000.

The Korean beef bulgogi came out quickly. The beef had a good color, and the portion was so generous that it seemed like the bulgogi alone would be enough to fill me up.

They did not serve only bulgogi; they also provided morning rolls, cheese, and mustard sauce so I could make bulgogi sandwiches.

It was a restaurant with a wide variety of sides so that everyone from children to adults could enjoy the meal in a different way.

It was nice with the salad because it tasted refreshing.

Seoul-style soupy bulgogi cooked in broth
The Korean beef bulgogi goes on a pan filled with broth, while various vegetables are added to the broth, and you pick it out to eat like shabu-shabu or jeongol (Korean hot pot). The food was generally not overly salty, so I thought it would also be good for taking my parents out to eat. It may taste a little mild at first, but as the flavors of the meat and vegetables seeped into the broth, it gradually became deeper and richer, and the flavor improved toward the end.
The Korean beef bulgogi became tender as it cooked and was delicious without being at all tough. The meat was high quality and fresh, with no gaminess whatsoever, so even I, who cannot eat meat when it has an unpleasant smell, enjoyed it. I heard that it had appeared on a TV program, and I felt that its reputation as a good restaurant was deserved.

Korean beef minari yukhoe after the bulgogi
I was reluctant to stop with only bulgogi, so I ordered yukhoe as well. I mixed the egg yolk well into the fresh Korean beef yukhoe and enjoyed it, and it seemed well worth trying if you like yukhoe.
After eating this much, I wanted to have the naengmyeon (cold noodle) dessert set, but I simply could not eat any more. The naengmyeon dessert set costs an additional ₩2,900, but I had eaten that filling a meal. It is a place worth keeping in mind if you are planning a family gathering or group get-together in Hakik-dong, Incheon.
