Seogwipo seafood restaurant with braised hairtail: Jejurowoon
In short
Jejurowoon Cheonghaewon Seongsan Ilchulbong Branch is a seafood restaurant in Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo, Jeju. I ordered the braised hairtail A set and found the fish tender, the seasoning pleasantly spicy rather than very hot, and the many side dishes filling. The large tables and high chairs made it seem well suited to a family meal.

Can you eat braised hairtail in Seongsan, Jeju, in the morning?
I had the braised hairtail A set at Jejurowoon Cheonghaewon Seongsan Ilchulbong Branch (제주로운청해원 성산일출봉점) in Seongsan, Jeju. It is near Seongsan Ilchulbong, Seopjikoji, and Aqua Planet, making it a convenient place for a meal during a Seongsan trip.

The original post lists the hours as 8:00 AM to 9:30 PM daily, with last orders at 9:00 PM. Since it opens early, it is a place where you can eat before starting the day’s itinerary.
Is it comfortable for families or groups?
Even though I visited a little after lunchtime, the restaurant was full. The interior was neat, and there were many large tables, so it looked comfortable for families or larger groups to dine together. High chairs were also available.

Group dining, reservations, and takeout were listed as available. There is also a parking lot behind the restaurant, though it is small. The original post noted that roadside parking directly in front of the restaurant was convenient.
What comes with the braised hairtail A set?
The menu was divided into sets and individual dishes. Along with braised hairtail, there were sets with braised mackerel and kimchi, as well as stir-fried black pork. Seafood stew, abalone porridge, and sea urchin seaweed soup were available as individual dishes.

I ordered the braised hairtail A set. Sets can be ordered for two or more people, and it came with grilled tilefish, soy-marinated crab, and pot-cooked rice. I could choose either seafood stew or seaweed soup.

Several basic side dishes were served, including a fish cake dish. The grilled tilefish was crisp on the outside, almost as if fried, and moist inside. The soy-marinated crab was also meaty and went well with rice.
How were the seafood stew and pot-cooked rice?
I chose the seafood ttukbaegi (seafood stew served in an earthenware pot) as the soup dish. It arrived bubbling hot, with the savory depth of doenjang-jjigae and a clean seafood flavor. It contained several kinds of seafood and paired well with the sotbap (pot-cooked rice).

With the hot pot-cooked rice, I first transferred the rice to a bowl and poured hot water into the pot to make nurungji (scorched rice). I was quite full after the set, but I still finished it with the seafood stew.

How spicy is the braised hairtail, and what is its texture like?
The braised hairtail seemed to have been partly cooked before it arrived. There was plenty of broth, so I let it reduce a little more before eating. The seasoning had a pleasant kick, but it was not very spicy for me.

The hairtail meat came away softly from the bone and had a rich flavor. I especially liked the thoroughly cooked radish, which had absorbed the seasoning well, with the hairtail and rice. With braised hairtail and all the accompaniments, it was a filling arrangement for a family meal.
