Hanam ramen restaurant for spicy chicken broth: Menji Hanam Misa
In short
Menji Hanam Misa Branch is a Japanese ramen restaurant in Hanam, Gyeonggi. I had spicy toripaitan ramen and a mini yakitoridon on my own, and the rich chicken broth paired wonderfully with the smoky rice bowl. Verdict: Worth returning to when I’m craving Japanese ramen, despite the parking challenge.

Menji Hanam Misa Branch location and hours
It is on the first floor at 36 Misagangbyeonbuk-ro 30beonan-gil, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do. Weekday hours are 11:00–20:30, with a break from 15:00–17:00, and last orders are at 20:00. Weekend hours are 11:00–20:30 with no break, and last orders are at 20:00.
Today I visited MENJI, a Japanese ramen specialist in Hanam Misa. It’s one of those places I’d keep going back to—if you love Japanese ramen, you’ll probably visit often like I would.

Menji does not have its own parking lot, so that may be a little inconvenient at lunchtime or on weekends. Menji and Easy White Bread Café share an entrance. The entrance might make you pause for a second, but don’t worry—just head in :)”

Japanese-style exterior and menu
The Menji entrance. Can you feel the Japanese style right from the entrance?! Its neat exterior really gave it that Japanese ramen-shop feel.

They sell a variety of dishes, including handmade ramen, tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet), yakitoridon (grilled chicken rice bowl), whole chicken legs, and naengmyeon (cold noodles). They also have set meals, so keep that in mind.

A comfortable interior for dining alone
The interior was not large, but it was very clean overall, with a soft, warm atmosphere. There were two tables for four and six counter seats. It seemed like an easy place for a solo meal, date, or family meal. I went there to eat alone, too.

The walls were covered with Japanese posters, including One Piece and Totoro :) Cute little Japanese ornaments were displayed throughout, too. They were so adorable that they kept catching my eye.
Since I was dining alone, I sat at an empty counter seat. Bottled water, paper cups, and hair ties were set out. Thoughtfully, there was a charger too, which I loved—I happened to be out of battery :)”

The utensils were neatly set on the table. Since ramen can be a little salty by nature, ask for broth if it tastes too salty to you.

Please take only as much takanazuke (pickled mustard greens) as you will eat 🙏

How to enjoy handmade ramen and tonkatsu. Have a read while you wait for your order :)”

Order alcohol and receive one chicken skewer; show a student ID and receive either mini rice or extra noodles.

You order using the tablet provided at each table.

Spicy toripaitan ramen and mini yakitoridon
You can also take part in the Naver receipt review event. I ordered spicy toripaitan ramen for ₩11,500, mini yakitoridon for ₩4,500, and a soft drink for ₩2,000.

Clean-tasting spicy toripaitan ramen
The spicy toripaitan ramen is a clean, spicy ramen that suits Korean tastes perfectly, topped generously with chili seasoning and Cheongyang chili peppers on toripaitan.

They say the noodles are made with the Kaga noodle-making method, which gives them an appealing nutty whole-wheat texture, while the broth is slowly made with chicken for a clean yet deeply savory flavor. The noodles were cooked just right, and they were so good with the rich broth. A gentle kick of heat cut through any richness beautifully. The ramen was also packed with ingredients, so it was delicious from the first bite to the last.

Mini yakitoridon full of smoky flavor
The mini yakitoridon is a Japanese-style mini grilled-chicken rice bowl, cooked over direct heat for plenty of smoky flavor. It was loaded with charcoal-grilled chicken and pork neck. I could not believe the portion for ₩4,500. A spoonful of rice with chicken and wasabi made for such a delicious full biteㅜ Having some ramen and broth in between, too... an absolutely fantastic pairing. I really recommend trying it :)”

By lunchtime, the place was full of customers. It seems word has already spread that it is a great ramen spot in Hanam. If you love Japanese ramen in Hanam, I definitely recommend visiting Menji Hanam Misa Branch at least once. I think everyone will have a satisfying meal.
