Hanam pizza restaurant date with loaded pizza boats: The Pizzeria Market

In short

The Pizzeria Market Hanam Misa is a New York-style wood-fired pizza restaurant near Mangwol Lake Park in Hanam, Gyeonggi. We tried tomato pagheri short pasta and two pizza boats, with the stuffed house-made pastrami pizza boat standing out. Verdict: a wonderfully atmospheric date spot with seriously filling pizza boats.

The Pizzeria Market Hanam Misa: location and visitor information

The Hanam Misa branch is on the street directly behind Starbucks Hanam Misa. It is a little way from Misa Station, in the quiet, relaxed commercial area around Starbucks Hanam Misa and Mangwol Lake Park.

The Pizzeria Market is a handmade-pizza favorite and date hot spot that also has a location in Haebangchon, Itaewon. To find a Haebangchon favorite in Hanam Misa! That is the majesty of the Misa neighborhood, right?

There is space for about two cars right beside the restaurant, and one hour of parking is supported at the Wondersuite garage in the Starbucks Hanam Misa building directly across the street. With fall suddenly close, the terrace seats looked pleasantly open. As a pet-friendly restaurant, the terrace is easy to use, with the feel of a great pizza place encountered while traveling in Europe!

The Pizzeria Market allows pets. Guests complete a QR questionnaire before entering, and the rules are managed strictly, so both regular guests and dog owners can enjoy the restaurant without making one another uncomfortable. I liked that.

A cozy interior and open kitchen

The interior is quite spacious, with a very cute, cozy mood. It had both the polish and warmth that would make a home party feel wonderful. It felt like a lovely restaurant found on a European street.

There is group seating for around eight people, and each table had red flowers in a vase, creating a warm glow that made Christmas seem just around the corner. Great touches everywhere, too.

There is a weekday sandwich lunch set with an Americano for ₩11,900! A seriously good-value option, too.

On one side, they bake wood-fired pizzas themselves; on the other, there was a dream open kitchen packed with ingredients and groceries. I want to cook somewhere this cool, too.

The Pizzeria Market’s pizza dough is reportedly a naturally fermented sourdough made by blending Italian Caputo flour and organic whole wheat, then cold-fermenting it for 48 hours. The dough is said to be especially crisp and clean-tasting.

A lovely pizza, pasta, and salad restaurant for a glass of wine or beer. A great Hanam Misa date restaurant for families and couples, perhaps?

What is a pizza boat?

It is a pizza-like dish made by baking cheese, tomato sauce, and assorted toppings on elongated boat-shaped bread or pizza dough. Pizza boats are a well-known item at The Pizzeria Market; there were arugula, shrimp eck-ke-yo, and house-made pastrami perilla-leaf and shishito pesto pizza boats.

The menu included a four-person family set, couple’s wine set, romaine salad, chrysanthemum greens and pecan salad, ricotta tomato marinade, tomato pagheri short pasta, truffle mushroom pagheri short pasta, chamnamul, Korean The Beef, Double Cheese, NY Margherita, and truffle mushroom pizza. The range of local Hanam craft beers was especially nice. There is non-alcoholic beer, too.

We ordered a basil green ade and a non-alcoholic Jeju Nouveau beer, just to set the mood! The special ade was full of the aroma of freshly ground basil. It paired very well with pizza.

Tomato pagheri short pasta with memorable beef ragù

This was the tomato pagheri short pasta. Made with ragù, it was a deeply flavorful tomato pasta with tender little bites of beef. Basil herbs and savory cheese came together beautifully, while the pagheri pasta gave it a wonderfully chewy bite.

It had been a while since I had eaten pasta like this at such a lovely restaurant, and it made me so happy. The beef-filled ragù was especially memorable.

Pizza boats packed all the way through

Pizza boats were new to me. They are quite similar to pizza, with the feeling of an individual pizza. The name is very long, but once you look at the ingredients, they are all right there in the menu name.

A pizza boat like an individual pizza

As soon as an order comes in, they stretch the dough and bake it in the wood-fired oven. Once the dough comes out, they fill both the inside and the top generously.

This pizza boat has beef pastrami ham cured in-house, a spicy and pleasantly bitter perilla-leaf and shishito pesto, and giardiniera chili pickles for a bright touch.

Pastrami, perilla-leaf and shishito pesto pizza boat

It was more generous and more loaded than I had imagined a pizza boat would be, and I was genuinely surprised when I cut into it and found the inside packed, too! It felt a little halfway between a sandwich and a pizza! The dough is pizza dough, but it is stuffed tightly like a sandwich. The perilla-leaf and shishito pesto gives it a strong Korean flavor, while the cheese and pesto feel completely Italian. The pastrami’s smoky aroma was so good, too!

This is not a small pizza with simple toppings on dough, but a pizza boat beyond pizza. Even one per person is seriously satisfying, with plenty to eat. What an amazing menu item! Recommended!

A filling pizza-boat date in Hanam Misa at The Pizzeria Market

This is The Pizzeria Market’s classic pizza boat, faithful to the basics with arugula, cherry tomatoes, and stracciatella cheese. It costs ₩8,900! The weekday set with an Americano is ₩11,900. A delicious lunch at a great-value price is totally possible!

Such wholesome ingredients sit on chewy, fluffy dough! Fresh ingredients were packed all the way inside here, too! The flavor was like the arugula pizza we all know, but the dough was truly thick and nutty. As a handmade wood-fired pizza specialist, the dough was both clean-tasting and chewy! Wow... the ingredients worked together perfectly! We enjoyed pizza boats rather than ordinary pizza, and it felt fresh and beyond the usual pizza. We left very satisfied and well fed.

It felt even more special to experience The Pizzeria Market’s reputation in Hanam Misa. A pizza favorite near Mangwol Lake Park and recommended for dates! I recommend it when you want to create a lovely atmosphere.
