These days, a date in Seongsu feels like it should be more than just cafés. So this time I did something a little different: I went to Robenta Seongsu to make friendship rings with a friend.
Honestly, my first worry about one-day classes was, "Is it okay if I'm not good with my hands?" Spoiler: it was a needless worry 🥹 The staff explained everything kindly step by step and kept checking on us, so this really is a class anyone can do. And the pride of finishing a ring yourself is totally different from buying one. I immediately understood why it's such a popular Seongsu date course.

What is the Robenta Seongsu workshop like?

Robenta Seongsu has a clean exterior and good signage in the building, so even first-timers can find it easily. Seongsu's alleys are full of stylish spaces, and Robenta has a great vibe too, so I was excited before even walking in. Lots of couples come on dates, and plenty of friends seemed to be there making friendship rings too!

Inside, the first thing you see is a display of rings in all kinds of designs. Seriously... I kept saying, "These are all pretty!" 🫢 There was more variety than I expected: simple designs, unique ones, styles great for layering, and designs with a little accent. The information sheets were easy to read, so it was not hard even on a first visit.

I'd imagined a workshop would feel stiff, but Robenta Seongsu was relaxed, almost like a café. It was clean and tidy, and the tools were neatly organized, which gave it a professional feel too.

How do you choose a friendship ring design?
At Robenta Seongsu, you look at the displayed silver rings in person and check prices right away on a tablet while choosing. Honestly... choosing took the longest 🫠 There were just so many pretty ones. Seeing prices on the tablet made it easy to choose within budget.
The silver ring designs were really varied, so people who like simple styles and people who like a bit of an accent should both be happy. Being able to see the real rings and compare fit and thickness made choosing much easier.

Finger size is measured at the workshop
After choosing a design, we filled in some simple information and had our finger sizes measured. The ring size you usually wear may differ a bit from your actual size, so they said measuring in person is the most accurate. The staff explained things easily and helped us find the exact size, so it wasn't hard at all.

After a lot of agonizing, we finally picked our design. My friend and I went back and forth: "This one's prettier!" "No, this one suits us better!" 🥲 That part was surprisingly fun. Talking about our shared tastes while choosing became a memory in itself. The staff also explained each design's features, fit and care one by one, which really helped us decide.

Can you make a ring without crafting skills?
At the Robenta Seongsu one-day class, everything from gloves to tools was already set out at our seats, so there was nothing to bring. They explained things patiently, and my nerves faded quickly. At first I thought, 'Can I really make this...?' but a few minutes in I caught myself saying, "Oh? This is more fun than I thought!" The relaxed atmosphere and chatting with my friend made time fly.

Then we started making the rings. Before starting I was a little worried, 'What if I ruin it...?' That worry vanished in under 5 minutes 😊 The staff taught us one step at a time from start to finish and checked our work at every step, so even first-timers could enjoy it without pressure.
They helped right away with tricky parts and even explained why we were doing each step, so it was fun to learn, not just make. The workshop was relaxed, and chatting with my friend about this and that made time pass quickly. That's why even people new to one-day classes can enjoy it.

The most memorable step: polishing the ring
The most memorable step was polishing each ring. Watching a rough-looking ring slowly turn into a pretty shape made me even more attached to it. There was also a step using a machine to smooth the surface, and the staff showed us how to do it safely, so we could go ahead without worry.
I loved that you can finish something pretty even if you're not particularly skilled. As the ring looked more and more polished, we both kept marveling, 'Did I really make this?'

What to do in Seongsu during the 1-hour finishing
At Robenta Seongsu, you do the basic making yourself, and the staff carefully handle the final finishing. That takes about 1 hour, and honestly that time was great! ✨
You came all the way to Seongsu, so it would be a shame to only visit the workshop, right? We left our rings, had a tasty meal nearby, explored the Seongsu alleys and stopped by a café, then came back, and the timing was just right. The route works really well as a Seongsu date plan. There was also a review event at the counter, so it's worth checking if you visit!

How were the finished friendship rings and packaging?
Finally done! I was so happy with the result. The moment we got our finished friendship rings, my friend and I said at the same time, "Wow... they're really pretty." 👏 Maybe because we made them ourselves, they felt like more than pretty accessories, with memories wrapped in. I was really glad we made friendship rings!
I thought they'd only make the ring look nice, but the packaging was great too. Along with a luxurious case, they gave us a certificate, so it felt like receiving a gift. And they even put it all in a cute bag, such a thoughtful touch! These small details added up to show the brand's care and quality. I can see why people choose it for anniversary gifts, couple rings and friendship rings.

Seongsu has plenty of date courses, but Robenta Seongsu stayed with me as especially memorable because you make something and keep the memory. It wasn't just buying a ring; talking and making it piece by piece together was a joy, and I think every time I look at the finished ring, that day will come back to me.
The staff's kindness especially impressed me. They explained carefully from start to finish and helped with tricky parts, so even people new to workshops should be able to join without pressure. If you're looking for a different kind of date in Seongsu, or want to make special friendship or couple rings yourself, I recommend making precious memories at Robenta Seongsu 👍🏻
