What kind of café is Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae Main Branch?

Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae Main Branch is a coffee and bakery café near Yangjaesiminuisup Station. I found it while searching for bakery cafés in Yangjae-dong. I'd seen it in Gangnam too, but apparently Yangjae is the main branch. It's a great coffee spot with easy access from Yangjaesiminuisup Station, and the desserts are so good that it's nice to have one alongside your drink.

They also sell drip bags and signature gift bags as presents, so it's a Yangjae café that works surprisingly well when you're in a hurry. Here's my review of a very moody rainy-day café visit :-)

Why Mini Male made our rainy weekend Yangjae date

It was pouring on our weekend date in Yangjae, so we looked for a café and ended up at Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae Main Branch, sob. The name is unusual, and it reminded me of the branch I'd visited in Yeoksam and Gangnam. Mini Male is a coffee spot, but it also has a wide range of bakery items and gift sets... anyway, I remembered it being a really solid place.

Seating and atmosphere at Mini Male Yangjae

There are small tables on the terrace out front, and inside you'll find a bar table by the window, 2- and 4-person tables, and mini tables where you sit side by side. The terrace would probably be lovely when the weather is nice. It's on the small side for a Yangjae café, but since it's a coffee and bakery favorite, people kept coming in for takeout.

There were plenty of tissues, and the cups and water were kept neat and clean. I liked that the inside wasn't very loud.

Is there still bread at Mini Male right after lunch?

We got to Mini Male Yangjae just after lunchtime and most of the bread was already sold out. Since it's a famous Yangjae bakery spot I wanted to try at least one, so after some hesitation I picked my all-time favorite, salt bread (소금빵, a buttery roll with a salted crust).

Besides salt bread, the basics like scones and financiers (small almond cakes) looked good too. Seeing them like this, they're all so round and cute, haha.

Drip bag and cookie gift sets for last-minute presents

Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae Main Branch has lots of gift sets too. With drip bags and cookies, it's a handy stop if housewarming guests are suddenly coming or you want to give someone a present. Some people even eat in and then buy a gift to take away, since the coffee and desserts here are so good.

Ordering at the counter or the kiosk

You can order at the counter, and there's a kiosk next to it for quick ordering. Customers kept coming in, and a lot of people were ordering fast at the kiosk.

How do the British Einspänner and Helsinki latte taste?

We ordered salt bread, a British Einspänner (coffee topped with thick cream) and a Helsinki latte. The Helsinki latte is Mini Male's signature, and it's delicious. Even people who aren't big coffee drinkers will like it, since it isn't bitter. Good!

It's a Yangjae coffee favorite, so many people come for the coffee. I'm not much of a coffee drinker either, but the Mini Male Helsinki latte isn't strong in caffeine and is moderately sweet, so it suited me.

The cream on the British Einspänner is just as soft and sweet. They gave me a spoon too, so I took my time tasting it.

Butter salt bread with coffee: a good pairing?

Since it's a well-known Yangjae bakery, I was curious about the Mini Male salt bread. It's a soft butter salt bread, so it pairs really well with coffee. Thanks to that, I enjoyed a satisfying dessert after lunch.

Is Mini Male Yangjae a good date café in Seoul?

Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae Main Branch is easy to reach from Yangjaesiminuisup Station, and its coffee, desserts and bakery are as good as the mood is nice, so it's worth stopping by whether you sit in or take away.
