Business-trip café in Yangjae: Helsinki latte and cookie, Mini Male
In short
Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae Main Branch is a specialty coffee roastery café in an alley about a 3-minute walk from Exit 3 of Yangjaesiminuisup Station in Seocho, Seoul. During a business trip to Yangjae, the writer used some spare time to try Mini Male's signature Helsinki latte and a cookie, and enjoyed both: the latte was smooth and nutty, the cookie crisp outside and soft inside. Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae is a small, calm café that suits a short break on a work trip or solo laptop work.

I recently went on a business trip to Yangjae and found myself with a little free time, so I went looking for a café nearby. Whenever I travel for work, I like to stop at one good café in the neighborhood, and this time I found a place that was better than I expected, so I wanted to share it.

Where is Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae Main Branch?

- Address: 32 Gangnam-daero 10-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul (1st floor)
- Hours: 08:00 – 20:00

There's no dedicated parking, but nearby public lots (Yangjae Citizen's Forest, Yangjae Flower Market, etc.) work fine. I'd recommend public transport.

What's the atmosphere like, and is it good for working alone?
Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae Main Branch is a small black-and-white café, good for solo laptop work or a short stop before or after a meeting. Given how many reviews it has, I assumed it would be a fairly big café, but it's actually compact. If anything, that made it more charming.
The exterior is neatly done in black and white, and the interior has the same clean, modern feel with nothing superfluous, so it was comfortable to stay in. It's a fine place to work alone or to drop in around a meeting.

Kiosk ordering, plus coffee beans and drip bags to take home
I could order easily at a kiosk, and one side of the shop sells coffee beans and drip bags, which really gives it a specialty café feel. A Naver receipt review event was running when I visited, and joining it got you a drip bag.

How does Mini Male's signature Helsinki latte taste?
Mini Male's signature Helsinki latte is smoother and nuttier than a regular latte, and the bitterness isn't overpowering, so anyone can drink it comfortably. I ordered it that day because I like tasting the character of the beans themselves.
The first sip was impressively smooth and nutty compared with a regular latte, and further in, a faint sweetness and creamy texture came together nicely and made it easy to enjoy. The milk and espresso are well balanced, so the bitterness never overwhelms, and anyone can drink it. The clean finish made it a satisfying cup even without dessert, and I think it's worth ordering at least once on a first visit.

I've gotten so used to franchise coffee that it all tastes alike to me, so this felt like "real coffee" for the first time in a while. It was a short stop, but enough to refresh me during the trip.

What's the Mini Male cookie like?
The cookie I ordered with the Helsinki latte at Mini Male Yangjae Main Branch was slightly crisp outside and moist inside, better than I expected. The balance was clear in the first bite.

It isn't overly sweet; a gentle sweetness anchors it, so it goes down easily with coffee and pairs especially well with the latte. It's as well made as something from a dessert shop, and a good light side to order.

Verdict: a Yangjae specialty café for a break on a business trip
Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae Main Branch is within walking distance of Yangjaesiminuisup Station, so access is excellent, and it sits in a quiet alley with a relaxed feel.
The shop has a stylish black-and-white interior that feels clean and refined, and the calm overall mood makes it easy to stay for a long time. As a specialty coffee shop, it also lets you choose from a variety of beans, a big plus, and it should especially satisfy people who care about the true taste of coffee.
