I was looking for a place to get really good coffee in Yangjae, so I went to Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae Main Branch (미니말레 커피뢰스터 양재본점), which has a reputation as a coffee-lover's spot.

From the signature Helsinki latte to a hot latte that lets the acidity shine, plus a thick, gooey levain cookie, this Yangjae café really recharged me on a sleepy afternoon. A true coffee spot!

Even though I came on a weekday at lunchtime, there were so many people at the shop.

I even ate and rushed over as fast as I could, and the bakery still sold out in no time, so you can really feel how popular it is.

If there's something you want to eat, I think you need to come before 1 p.m. T_T It felt less like a place for a quick rest and more like somewhere people come to properly enjoy a cup of coffee. When you search for Yangjae cafés, many are introduced for their mood or interiors, but what stayed with me at Mini Male was the taste of the coffee itself.

Is the signature Helsinki latte okay if you can't handle bitter coffee?

Mini Male's signature Helsinki latte is nutty and rich in flavor, and my younger sibling, who absolutely cannot drink bitter coffee, finished a sized-up cup all alone. You can size up by up to 2 steps.

What does a hot latte taste like with acidic beans?

At Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae Main Branch you can switch the latte beans from the nutty ones to acidic beans, and the price difference was only ₩200. Even with milk, the acidic-bean hot latte kept its zingy brightness and was sweet and smooth.

They even drew such pretty latte art... and the steamed milk was so fine and smooth.

I usually pick the nutty beans, but that day I switched to the acidic ones. And it's only ₩200 more!!

The charm of coffee is that even the same latte can feel different depending on the character of the beans.

Even in a latte with milk, the zing of the acidity came through well, and it was really sweet and smooth.

If you enjoy coffee, comparing the acidity, nuttiness and aroma of different beans is part of the fun. This latte was delicious from the first sip to the last.

How many of the 2 levain cookies should you order after a meal?

At Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae Main Branch I ordered the peanut butter strawberry jam levain and the plain levain cookie. Each one is quite big, so after a meal, one for two people was plenty. They're gooey and packed with filling, so they went well with coffee.

Coffee alone is nice, but even when I'm full, I always have a little dessert... hehe.

I wanted something sweet and hefty. One cookie is quite large and really filling! After a meal, ordering just one for two people is enough, haha.
