For our anniversary I went to Flat Nine, a Sinnonhyeon favorite. ✔️ You can watch a live performance while you eat and ✔️ there's a course with steak and pasta, and we had a great time. Let's get into the full review~

Flat Nine location and performance lineup

Flat Nine is on the 5th floor at 10 Gangnam-daero 65-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul. I went by public transportation.

The lineup changes every time, with guitar, vocals and more, so you get a nice variety of performances..

Flat Nine show times and usage guide

Flat Nine has set performance times every hour. One alcoholic drink per person is required, and you need a performance ticket too!

Flat Nine course and à la carte menu

There was a course meal, plus appetizers, pasta and steak à la carte. Since it was our anniversary, I went for the course, haha.

Flat Nine monthly performance schedule

They also post the monthly performance schedule, so if you like this kind of show, check the schedule ahead of time and pick a day when your favorite singer-songwriter is playing.

Inside Flat Nine as guests enter at show time

People usually come in at show time, order, and eat while the performance goes on~ So I planned our arrival so we could sit down and eat right away, haha.

Flat Nine lunch show: atmosphere and seating

The lunch show at Flat Nine started at 1 p.m., and the hall was dark and moody. I visited at lunchtime, and right at 1 the performer came out and got going, haha.

Seats in the dimly lit Flat Nine performance hall

There were quite a lot of seats, though I think it would fill up on weekend evenings. The seats face forward so you sit side by side, which is perfect for a date, haha.

Luckily we arrived early and got good seats, haha. When I went, the performer picked calm, mellow songs, and maybe because of that the whole place felt extra romantic, haha.

What comes in the Flat Nine lunch course?

The lunch course came in this order: welcome drink, bread and appetizer, melon and salmon dish, pasta, steak, dessert. We started with a refreshing welcome drink.

Next came the bread and appetizer!

Crispy-outside, soft-inside bread and the melon salmon dish

The bread was super crispy outside and soft inside, and I personally loved it. The appetizer had a healthy taste too, not bad at all for lunch.

There was also a dish made with korean melon (chamoe), and personally I thought the soft, squishy texture of the melon went really well with the tenderness of the salmon.

Thick, creamy carbonara

For the course pasta I ordered the carbonara, and it was a proper, real carbonara, so I enjoyed it even more. Thick and creamy, exactly my style, haha.

I mixed it up and it tasted like something I'd never had before, but not bad at all, so I just kept slurping away while watching the show.

I watched the performance between bites. The songs weren't upbeat, but because they were calm, the mood was even better. A really atmospheric Sinnonhyeon spot.

The final course: black pork steak

The last course was steak. It was my first time trying black pork steak, and it wasn't gamey at all, it was good, haha.

Flat Nine anniversary dessert lettering: how to request it

If you ask about anniversary lettering when booking through Catch Table, Flat Nine will write on your dessert. I asked while reserving whether lettering was possible for our anniversary, and they decorated the last dessert with beautiful lettering, haha. Such a thoughtful touch, right?? haha

Is Flat Nine a good anniversary date in Gangnam?

It was a happy anniversary day out. The food was good and you get to watch a live show, so it's an unusual date idea. If you're a couple wondering what to do in the Gangnam area, I recommend Flat Nine~
