At Plan H Cheonan Cheongdang Branch (플랜에이치 천안청당점), I turned my chest-length, semi-curly hair into a medium-length layered CS-curl perm. I'm juggling parenting and work and wanted to spend less time styling, so I'd been thinking about a perm and ended up visiting Plan H in Cheongdang-dong, Cheonan. Plan H Cheongdang is a Naturia official membership salon. They say they use safe hair products made with naturally derived ingredients and only carry the proven Cinderella Clinic and genuine Naturia products.

Salon atmosphere and the consultation before the perm

The salon was much bigger and more pleasant than I expected. It's clean overall, and the bright lighting gives it a cheerful feel. I booked with the deputy director (부원장), and since it runs by appointment, I was able to start right away with no waiting.

The consultation before the treatment was thorough too. She checked the condition of my hair and asked what style I wanted. My hair was chest-length and semi-curly. I told her I wanted a medium-length layered C-curl perm, and she suggested a naturally falling medium length, trimming the damaged parts lightly before doing the perm, rather than going too obviously medium-length.

For semi-curly hair, I was recommended a CS curl instead of a C curl

She explained that with semi-curly hair, a C-curl alone without straightening can look frizzy. After talking it over, I decided on a layered CS-curl perm.

Layered CS-curl perm steps: cut, heat perm, neutralizing

Before the perm, she first trimmed my damaged ends lightly. Even though it was just a light trim, my hair already felt a lot lighter. Once the cut was done, the perm itself began.

She connected the rods one by one to the heat perm machine for the heat treatment. She kept checking that it wasn't too hot, so I was comfortable throughout.

They gave me an iced Americano while I waited for the heat treatment!

After the heat treatment comes neutralizing. It was done at the shampoo station and I think it took about 15 minutes. Also, personally, I loved the scent of the shampoo.

She taught me how to style it while blow-drying

While drying my hair, the deputy director showed me the blow-dry direction and how to bring out the curls, and told me I must use treatment since my hair is color-treated! Some people worry the styling will be difficult, but I think even first-time perm-getters can manage this without trouble.

Medium-length layered CS-curl perm result and how long it took

The layered CS-curl perm took about 2 hours. When the perm was done and I looked in the mirror, it was exactly the look I wanted, so I was happy. It's a layered perm that isn't over the top, just right, and it brought out a much more feminine mood.

The curls look pretty from the back too, right? They aren't too strong and came out in the style I wanted! Even just scrunching lightly with my hands makes the curls form, so styling should be much easier.

After the treatment, just changing my hair changed my whole vibe into something much more feminine and polished, so I was really satisfied.
