Yongsan Station weekday date café: sangria and ham egg sandwich, HYBE
In short
HYBE Playground is a café near Sinyongsan and Yongsan Station in Seoul, spread across the building from a 2nd-floor café to a 4th-floor rooftop. The writer visited HYBE Playground around 3 p.m. on a quiet weekday, ordered apple mango yogurt cake, sangria and a ham egg sandwich, and took the leftover dessert home. For a calm Yongsan Station date that covers both a meal and dessert, a weekday afternoon at HYBE Playground is a good fit.

Today I want to introduce a place for anyone looking for a café in Sinyongsan, and for anyone stuck on where to go for a Yongsan Station date.

It's HYBE Playground, and I had such a good time that I'm still basking in it, since I only just got back.
HYBE Playground location, opening hours and parking
HYBE Playground is at 9-17 Hangang-daero 15-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The 2nd floor is the café, the 3rd floor is a lounge and terrace, and the 4th floor is a rooftop. It's open every day from 10:00 to 24:00.
- Transit: 525 m from Exit 1 of Yongsan Station
- Parking: one or two spots in front of the shop (call to ask)
When is HYBE Playground quiet?
Going around 3 p.m. on a weekday was really relaxed and nice. On a weekend there would probably be a wait and finding a seat wouldn't be easy, but on a weekday afternoon there weren't many customers, so I could enjoy it in peace.

Among Sinyongsan cafés, I'd strongly recommend a weekday afternoon if you want to sit and talk quietly.
If you're planning a Yongsan Station date in particular, avoid the crowded hours and you'll enjoy it much more. The first thing I felt when I walked in was how comfortable the space is.

Just sitting at a window seat in that quiet atmosphere, leisurely looking over the menu, made me feel calm.
What we ordered at HYBE Playground
This day we ordered the apple mango yogurt cake, sangria and a ham egg sandwich. Every single one was satisfying.

How does the apple mango yogurt cake taste?
First, the apple mango yogurt cake! You can feel the freshness just from the name, right?

There's plenty of sweet-tart mango tucked between layers of soft yogurt cream, and every bite put me in a good mood.

It isn't heavy, just a light, fresh sweetness, so it paired really well with coffee or a drink. If you're looking for a dessert at a Sinyongsan café, I recommend trying this cake at least once.

Does the sangria go well with dessert?
We also ordered sangria,

and the fruit-packed sangria was fragrant and refreshing, a perfect match for an afternoon tea time.
The sweet dessert and the zesty sangria go together surprisingly well, so I kept reaching for more.

It was a drink that made the date mood even more romantic.
Ham egg sandwich: filling enough for a meal
For something more substantial I ordered the ham egg sandwich. The moist egg and salty ham went nicely with the soft bread and filled me up well.

I think it's just right for people who find dessert alone not enough but a heavy meal too much.

A big plus for a Yongsan Station date is that you can have both a meal and dessert at one café.
Can you take leftover dessert home from HYBE Playground?
At HYBE Playground you can pack up dessert you couldn't finish! Personally, this was something I really liked.

We've all had that moment of being too full to finish something delicious. Here you can take the leftover dessert home, so I got to enjoy it right to the very end.

It's a small thing, but a gesture like this really makes me want to come back.
What was the service like at HYBE Playground?
From explaining the menu to the service itself, the staff were very friendly, which also left an impression on me.

When I asked questions, they explained in detail without any sign of annoyance, so I could choose comfortably, and I felt careful consideration throughout the service.

A café's atmosphere and menu matter, but it reminded me once again that in the end it's people who make a space feel warm.
Who should pick HYBE Playground for a Yongsan Station date?
- Anyone who wants a quiet date (a weekday afternoon is highly recommended!)
- Anyone who wants to enjoy tasty dessert at a Sinyongsan café
- Anyone who wants a meal and dessert in one go on a Yongsan Station date
- Anyone who wants to relax comfortably with friendly service

The freshness of the apple mango yogurt cake, the fragrance of the sangria and the heartiness of the ham egg sandwich all clicked, making it a perfectly balanced day.

Add the takeout option and the friendly staff, and HYBE Playground, a Sinyongsan café, was a very satisfying place in many ways.
If you're looking for a date spot or a café to rest quietly near Yongsan Station, I really strongly recommend HYBE Playground.
