Southern-style bean sprout pho

I dug into the pho first! We chose the Southern-style bean sprout pho (nambusik sukju ssalguksu).

✔️ The Southern-style bean sprout pho is a Southern-style noodle soup with bean sprouts in a beef bone broth for a refreshing taste. -> I had it with the hoisin sauce and onions on the table, and it was so good.

Banh xeo

Next was banh xeo, a dish Laichen Wolseong Branch is really known for.

✔️ Laichen's banh xeo is a Vietnamese pancake made from rice flour batter, fried with vegetables, bean sprouts, meat and shrimp!

Banh xeo fried with vegetables and shrimp

You wrap the banh xeo in rice paper or lettuce and dunk it right into the nuoc cham (fish sauce dip) that comes with it. -> The batter is thin and crispy with a generous filling, so it was really delicious 🔥

The table has instructions on how to eat banh xeo and bun cha properly, so I followed them ✌🏻

Charcoal-grilled bun cha and nem

Next was bun cha, another popular dish at Laichen Wolseong Branch. ✔️ Laichen's bun cha is a traditional Hanoi dish: real charcoal-grilled meat, nem (fried spring rolls), vegetables and rice noodles dipped in a sweet and sour nuoc cham sauce!

Bun cha and nem dipped in nuoc cham sauce

The savory depth of the sauce is so good that dunking the noodles right in was delicious. ✔️ The nem served alongside was crispy and heavenly too -> The nem is so good that I recommend adding extra!

I finished with an ice-cold Coke Zero~ 🥤
