Uijeongbu Gosan-dong beef BBQ: jin-galbisal, muksabal at Hanmaeum

I've been craving beef lately, non-stop. Why?? haha. I heard about a BBQ place with a really good lineup of multi-cut sets, so one evening I went to Hanmaeum Butcher Restaurant Uijeongbu Gosan District Branch (한마음정육식당 의정부고산지구점) in Gosan-dong, Uijeongbu!! It was such a satisfying dinner at a Gosan-dong beef spot 😋

Hanmaeum Butcher Restaurant Uijeongbu Gosan: opening hours and parking

Hanmaeum Butcher Restaurant Uijeongbu Gosan District Branch is open Mon–Fri 16:00–23:00 and Sat–Sun 12:00–23:00, with last order at 22:00 and no break time. Parking is available in the building down to the third basement level, you can reserve through Naver, and there are group rooms.

I followed the GPS and there was the parking garage entrance with the sign right above it, so it was easy to find! The garage goes down to B3, so there was plenty of room, and you can also park at the public lot across the street or on the road behind the restaurant. The restaurant is on the 3rd floor!!

When you step out of the elevator, the entrance is right there! The recommended menu and set menus are displayed big, which was handy. Looks like Hibab (a famous Korean food YouTuber) has been here too 😮 There's also a discount before 6 p.m. on weekdays and before 3 p.m. on weekends, so keep that in mind.

What is the inside of Hanmaeum Butcher Restaurant in Gosan-dong like?

The interior is spacious, so it feels airy and comfortable rather than cramped. There's a kids' room on the left and group rooms on the right, so I'd recommend it for family outings and company dinners alike!!

In front of the counter there are candies and a coffee machine, and behind that a draft beer machine 🍺 and a fridge labeled "slush soju". It looks super refreshing ><

Further in, there's a fridge where the meat is aging, a kitchen that's almost fully open, and you can watch the owner trimming the meat and bringing it right out. It really lives up to the name "butcher restaurant" 👍🏻

Is Hanmaeum a good Korean BBQ spot in Gosan-dong, Uijeongbu for family dinners?

There are lots of baby chairs, and I was surprised by how well the kids' zone is kept. It's not just "there" — there's genuinely plenty to keep kids interested and playing! The CCTV screen is also on the opposite side of the restaurant, so even if you're at a far table you can feel at ease, which shows the owner's attention to detail.

With 3 group rooms and a big space overall, it'd be great for company dinners too. I especially liked how many parking spots there are.

The set menus run from ₩39,900 for a half cow to ₩97,900 for half pig plus half cow. You can also mix beef and pork.

The set menus were so well put together! Since you can mix them, you can enjoy a variety at good value, and the side menu items all pair perfectly with meat >< There's also jjajangbap (rice with black bean sauce) and seaweed soup for kids.

Aged half-cow set for 39,900 won: what side dishes come with it?

I ordered the aged half-cow set (₩39,900)! While I was still looking at the menu, the side dishes were already being set out quickly 🤩

The side dishes came in a really wide variety. The pickled chili peppers (gochu jangajji) especially — I'd rarely seen them at a BBQ place, and they went so well with the beef. Grilling the aged kimchi (mugeunji) was also the best, as expected.

Doenjang stew and muksabal included as standard

My favorite part!! Hanmaeum gives you doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) as standard!! It has its own burner, so you can eat it warm to the end, and if you add rice it becomes doenjang rice. Just watch the heat, though — if it reduces too much it gets salty.

And they give you muksabal (chilled acorn jelly soup), which is also on the side menu, as standard too 😭 Swoon, a spoonful in the middle of eating meat just sends it all down, so delicious

If you run out of side dishes, just help yourself at the self-serve bar! They also have baby spoons and forks, and seaweed snacks.

Half-cow set cuts: jin-galbisal, bone-in ribs and more

The aged half-cow set at Hanmaeum comes with jin-galbi-sal (thick rib meat), galbi-sal (rib meat), ppyeo-galbi (bone-in ribs), fan steak (bucheosal), and usamgyeopsal (beef belly). While I was looking around the restaurant, the owner was already preparing our meat and bringing it over haha. And here comes the half-cow set!

Being able to eat so many different cuts is a big plus!!

Sizzling away nicely~! A grill set with rice cake and mushrooms also comes once as standard. (I put the rice cake into the doenjang stew halfway through and it was so good.. my shy recommendation)

Beef, as expected..!! Very tender and delicious 🥰 There's a stone plate on the side, so the meat stayed warm to the end without getting tough.

I was too full to order the "dad's doenjang rice", so I faked it by mixing rice into the stew myself. The real thing must be even better 😭

There were candies and a coffee machine in front of the counter, and a rest area on the side outside the restaurant too! It seemed like a nice spot to make a coffee and chat for a bit after the meal haha

Hanmaeum Butcher Restaurant Uijeongbu Gosan District Branch has many pork cuts such as pork belly, pork neck, hangjeongsal (jowl) and gabrisal, plus beef cuts such as galbi-sal, fan steak and brisket-style beef belly, and I liked that the set menus let you eat a little of many cuts. It's a Uijeongbu BBQ place that people looking for a good-value dinner, families heading out for a meal, and groups can all be happy with.

Above all, it felt like a thoughtful place, with consideration for guests bringing kids visible everywhere!
