Today I'm sharing my visit to Anmin Masan (안민 마산), a great spot near the ballpark! Last week I went to Changwon to catch the NC Water Festival game, and since the timing was awkward, we decided to have a late dinner after the game.

An 8-minute walk from Masan Station, near Changwon NC Park
So that's how we ended up at Anmin Masan! From what I found when searching, Anmin is a BBQ restaurant with branches mainly around Busan and Gyeongnam.
Anmin Masan is about an 8-minute walk from Masan Station, so it's an easy pick if you're looking for a BBQ place near the station. Cross the road, turn left at the first corner, go straight a little way, and you'll spot it right there on your left.

The signboard with a little pig drawn on it is so cute that you can spot it from far away. It's also close to Changwon NC Park, so it's a handy place to eat before or after a baseball game.

Where do you park?
There was space to park a car in front of the restaurant, but it didn't seem to be Anmin's own dedicated lot. Using a nearby public car park would probably be a bit easier!

Inside Anmin Masan and the table notices
The inside was bigger than I expected, and the wood-tone interior gave it a nice atmosphere. We had made a reservation, so the side dishes and tableware were already set out for us! It looked good for company dinners and group gatherings too.

Each table also had a notice unique to Anmin. It showed the running total of visitors so far, and when we came we were guest number 30,189! It was a fun little detail that I caught myself reading again while waiting.

There were also tips for enjoying the meat even more! It covered how to combine different sauces and even recommended pairings with highballs and cocktails, so it was good reading before ordering.

The Anmin Masan menu and what we ordered
The menu has a half-pig set and a whole-pig set, plus à la carte items like pork belly, pork neck and hanbang-gyeopdegi (pork skin cooked with medicinal herbs). The first order must be at least 3 servings, and after that you can add 1 serving at a time.
They also had ramen as a side, plus highballs and cocktails, so it's a good place for a drink too.
- Half pig, 450g: ₩39,500
- Masitte golbaengi noodles (spicy-sweet mixed noodles with whelk): ₩6,000
- Creamy draft beer: ₩3,900 × 2

Side dishes and sauces
The side dishes were generous too! There was green onion kimchi, white kimchi, yuja-pickled radish and jangajji (soy-pickled vegetables), plus ssam vegetables and shredded cabbage salad, a great lineup to eat with the meat.
The sauces were varied as well: eogan-jang (fish soy sauce), cheese sauce and wasabi shiitake sauce, plus salt, zira (cumin seasoning) and roasted soybean powder. It was fun picking whatever suited my taste.

Half pig grilled by staff from start to finish
See how thick the meat is? I worried it wouldn't cook through, but that worry was for nothing.

A staff member grilled everything for us from start to finish, so we could chat comfortably while eating.
They cut each piece to a good bite size and put the cooked meat on first, which made eating even easier. The doneness was just right too.

After grilling on the main brazier, they move the meat to a mini brazier, so it stayed warm until the very end. I loved that.

Pork neck
I tried the pork neck first. It was golden outside and moist inside, with lots of juice. The texture was clean and tender, so pork neck lovers will probably be happy.

Pork belly
The pork belly was better than I expected too. The fat-to-lean ratio was good, and the richer flavor filled my mouth the more I chewed! It went well dipped in eogan-jang, and the cheese sauce added a nutty richness for a different twist.

Hanbang-gyeopdegi (herbal pork skin)
Personally, the hanbang-gyeopdegi was my favorite. It's seasoned with several medicinal herbs, and there was no gamey smell at all. Moist inside and chewy outside, it kept getting more savory the longer I chewed. If you like pork skin, please give it a try!

Among the side dishes, the green onion kimchi stuck with me most. Putting it on top of the pork belly brought out even more savory depth, and the combination was great! There were plenty of ssam vegetables too, so wrapping was fun.

Good sides: Masitte golbaengi noodles and creamy draft beer
And then the Masitte golbaengi noodles! The mixing sauce is layered at the bottom, so I tossed it all together well. The sweet-and-sour sauce coated the noodles nicely and the noodles were chewy, perfect for a bite here and there between the meat.

It also cut through the greasiness, making it a perfect side to eat with the meat.

The creamy draft beer lived up to its name, with really soft foam. A faint lemon aroma came up with every sip, making it feel fresher. It went well with the meat, and I was glad we ordered it.

Wrapping up
From the side dishes and sauces to the grilling service, everything was satisfying, and it's a great place for a hearty meal after a baseball game.
Thick-cut meat, golbaengi noodles and draft beer, all delicious at Anmin Masan, my ballpark pick! If you're looking for BBQ near Masan Station or a good meal near the stadium, give it a visit! That's my review of Anmin Masan, a Changwon ballpark restaurant!
