Yangjae Station pie shop, kabocha 8-pie mix: Hodu Kkakki Brothers
In short
Hodu Kkakki Brothers (호두까끼형제) is a takeout-only handmade pie shop near Yangjae Station Exit 4 in Gangnam, Seoul (Nambusunhwan-ro 351-gil). The writer took home a Premium Mix Pie of 8 pies they picked themselves: 4 kabocha (sweet pumpkin) pies, 2 walnut pies and 2 milk cream walnut pies, at around 4,000 won per slice. With thin crust, generous filling and a pretty box, Hodu Kkakki Brothers' Premium Mix Pie is a reasonably priced gift worth recommending.

What is Hodu Kkakki Brothers in Yangjae like?
Hodu Kkakki Brothers (호두까끼형제) is a takeout-only pie shop near Yangjae Station selling sugar-free handmade pies and a range of drinks. I visited Hodu Kkakki Brothers, a Yangjae dessert favorite that sells sugar-free handmade pies and a variety of drinks.

Getting there from Yangjae Station, and parking
The shop is very close, about a 2-minute walk from Yangjae Station Exit 4. There's no parking lot, but takeout customers could park briefly in the alley in front of the shop for up to 5 minutes.

What pies are on the menu, and how much are they?
The menu has all kinds of handmade pies: walnut pie, milk cream walnut pie, macadamia cheese pie, pecan pie, hazelnut cacao pie, kabocha (sweet pumpkin) pie, mini pies and more. It's a takeout-only pie spot in Yangjae, and the entrance is decorated in a cute, fairy-tale style. The pies are baked fresh by hand every morning.

Even though it's Gangnam, the prices are pretty reasonable, which I liked. A slice of cake these days runs ₩7,000-8,000, but a slice of pie here is in the ₩4,000 range, so I was happy with that.
They say the pies use natural premium ingredients like organic flour, rice flour and natural milk butter, so you get the real taste of a healthy pie. The walnut pie is sweetened with natural honey, oligosaccharide syrup and maple syrup instead of plain sugar, so it's a snack that thinks about your health too.

Because the ingredients are good quality, it feels safe to share with kids, and I think it would make a perfect gift for people you care about.

How do you choose a Premium Mix Pie?
The Premium Mix Pie at Hodu Kkakki Brothers lets you pick any 8 pies you like. I ordered the Premium Mix Pie, and being able to put together exactly the combination I wanted was so nice. There was a kabocha pie that wasn't there last time I came, so this time I packed in the most kabocha pies. ^^ Coffee and drinks to go with the pies are on the menu too, and they were cheap and varied.

The colorful pies looked delicious and were arranged so prettily.

They also sell individually wrapped mini walnut pies, which seem handy to carry around as a snack. I visited in the afternoon, and several other customers stopped by for takeout too.

The box and how to store the pies
The pies keep for 7 days in the fridge or 30 days in the freezer, and they say they taste best after thawing naturally for about 10 minutes. The storage instructions come on a separate sheet of paper. The box itself was so pretty, too. It felt like receiving a gift! ^^

How do the kabocha pie, milk cream walnut pie and walnut pie taste?
When I opened my Premium Mix Pie at home, I had put together 4 kabocha pies, 2 signature walnut pies and 2 milk cream walnut pies.

With the bright yellow kabocha pies in the box, the color combination looked even prettier.

Kabocha pie
The kabocha pie tasted like it was made with plenty of pumpkin. It isn't sweet, so it feels healthy and I think grown-ups would like it. I bet it would be tasty slightly frozen, too.

The whipped cream on top of the kabocha pie is a milky, animal-based cream, and it went really well with the pumpkin.

Milk cream walnut pie
The milk cream walnut pie is topped with tasty French fresh cream and homemade strawberry jam, so it's moist and sweet, and so good. I think women in particular would love this one.

Signature walnut pie
The walnut pie has a subtle cinnamon scent, and the moist, sweet filling was so good. It's just sweet enough to enjoy with an americano. It's packed with nutty walnuts, so I think it would make a nutritious snack for kids.
I don't like hard, thick pie crust because it feels dry, but the 1 mm crust here is thin and crisp, so the pie was even better with all that filling.

Is Hodu Kkakki Brothers in Yangjae a good place for gifts?
Good ingredients, baked carefully by hand, great value and great taste: that's Hodu Kkakki Brothers, a handmade pie specialist in Yangjae ❤️ I usually prefer cake, but pie after a long time was really delicious too. There's a wide variety of pies, the box packaging is pretty, and you can build your own combination, so I recommend it as a gift.
