Juan hair salon for a loose wave perm on fine curly hair: Naple Hair

This is the story of a thick S-curl wave perm on long hair at Naple Hair, a hair salon in Juan, Incheon.

I've always had really curly, thin hair, so I've constantly struggled with my hairstyle, haha (crying emoji). I envied people with long, straight hair and grew mine out for a while, but the longer it got, the more dry and frizzy it became — no amount of brushing helped;;; I kept flat-ironing it and thought about getting a straight perm, but got tired of the hassle and ended up just tying it up and wearing hats all the time (crying emoji). Even taking my kid to kindergarten, I was always in a rush throwing my hair into a bun, and every time I looked in the mirror I got annoyed, so I decided it was time for a change to lift my mood.

While searching for hair salons in Incheon, I found a good spot around Juan, haha. What gave me confidence was that this spacious salon had been operating in the same location for a long time. It used to run as Zeo Hair and was renewed into a warmer, healthier space called Naple Hair, apparently, haha. Let me share what I noticed from my own visit :-)

If you're taking public transit, it's just one bus stop from Juan Station exit, right in front of the stop — great for those on foot. If you're driving, parking might be a worry, but you can park free at the outdoor lot of Pilgrim Church right next to the salon, so no need to stress ^^

The sign is clearly visible at the entrance, and once you go up to the 3rd floor, there's a spacious, clean restroom, so the first impression was already pleasant.

The warm, cozy interior and spacious layout made just sitting there feel healing. Hours are Monday–Friday 10:30am to 8:30pm, and Saturday–Sunday 10:30am to 8pm, so office workers can easily visit after work.

Loose waves for fine hair: the consultation with Manager Yeojin

Manager Yeojin at Naple Hair examined my scalp and hair texture and recommended a thick wave over thin curls since my hair is thin. It felt like she was balancing everything from root volume to overall length.

When I went up the stairs, Manager Yeojin greeted me warmly and brought out a cold Americano and cookies, haha. She carefully examined my scalp and hair condition, then explained in a personalized way that since my hair is thin, a thick wave would suit me better than thin curls — very much like a specialist designer, it felt like she was balancing everything from root volume to length.

My midface is on the longer side, so I was worried about the side-bang length, but she immediately explained she'd cut it to fall naturally along my jawline, which put me at ease. There was zero pressure to add clinics or extra treatments — she only offered opinions when truly necessary, which I liked. Maybe because we're both ESTPs, she just said exactly what was needed with no fluff, haha.

Since my hair condition wasn't great, I decided to add the nutrition clinic too, and I felt reassured hearing they use eco-friendly ingredients with a good texture. She's young and pretty, so even before starting, I already trusted that she was the one, haha. I'm not exactly a trendy age anymore... lol... but I thought, with Manager Yeojin, at least my hair could be trendy...^^

Long-hair S-curl wave perm, before and after

On my frizzy, overly layered long hair, adding a thick wave curl brought back shine and soft texture. The side hair was cut so it falls naturally when clipped with a claw clip.

Last time, at a neighborhood chain salon, I asked for a layered cut and ended up with way too many layers, which left me really upset for a while (crying emoji). So this time, I explained that after drying, my hair gets frizzy with too many layers and I wanted that fixed, and she had a thorough conversation with me about how to approach it.

Just as Manager Yeojin said, adding a thick wave curl to my frizzy hair brought back a glossy shine and soft texture ^^ The side hair was cut so it falls naturally when I use a claw clip, giving it a polished feel!! This is exactly it, I thought (crying emoji). I clip my hair a lot, and once I rolled it with a curling iron the way she taught me and took it out, it had that no-makeup-makeup look even without much styling... lol. The heaviness at the top was completely resolved too, and overall it felt lighter while still keeping volume, which I loved.

How to style the wave perm at home

Manager Yeojin's tip was that when you're busy, it's fine to just add volume at the roots and let the rest air-dry naturally. She also taught me to dry it by gently squeezing after shampooing.

Just changing my hair made looking in the mirror every morning enjoyable, and I feel more confident going out — it really reminded me that going to the hair salon is essential for recharging your mood.
