Suwon Station room bar for 7 with Japanese oden soup: Manseokjip
In short
Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch is a Korean pub on Suwon Station's Rodeo Street in Suwon, Gyeonggi, where every seat is a separate private room. Seven of us, including younger friends we hadn't seen in a year, ordered cheese tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), Hanwoo gopdori-tang (Korean beef tripe and spicy chicken stew), Japanese-style assorted oden soup and chocolate bingsu with draft beer, highballs and soju, and stayed late. Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch suits a big group near Suwon Station because the private rooms keep everyone in one conversation.

Looking for a private-room bar near Suwon Station where a group can talk?
Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch is the room bar I chose when we needed a space of our own near Suwon Station. I had a get-together with my younger friends in Suwon today, and some of them I hadn't seen in a whole year, so we wanted lots of conversation and needed a private space. I already knew Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch as a great place for group gatherings, so that was my pick.

What are the private rooms like at Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch?
Every seat at Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch is an individual room, so you hardly ever make eye contact with other guests. The hallway is decorated with soft lighting and wood-tone interiors, which makes it feel cozy.

Each room has a plush sofa and a large table, so it's comfortable for both eating and drinking. The quiet space is also great for talking.

Manseokjip menu and tablet ordering
Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch has a pretty wide menu: soups, jeongol (hot pot), chicken, pasta, yukhoe (beef tartare), stir-fries, fruit and more. You order by tablet from your seat.

Free chicken drumstick snacks (dakdari gwaja)
At Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch, once you're shown to your room and sit down, you get water and a chicken drumstick snack (dakdari gwaja). That snack is seriously tasty and perfect with beer. I feel like I eat two plates every time I go.

What did a group of seven order?
There were seven of us (we call ourselves the Seven Princesses), so we ordered cheese tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), Hanwoo gopdori-tang (chicken and beef intestine stew), Japanese-style assorted oden soup and chocolate bingsu (shaved ice).

And every time one more person arrived, cheers! Ta-da!
The mood was something else that day. I thought I'd get home late again, and sure enough, swept up in the atmosphere, I got home late and was wiped out the next day too 🤣 The bill came out insanely high.
Cheese tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes)
The cheese tteokbokki at Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch is packed with rice cakes, Vienna sausages, cabbage and fish cake. Melted mozzarella on top of the sweet and spicy gochujang sauce made it soft and nutty.

Hanwoo gopdori-tang (beef tripe and spicy chicken stew)
Hanwoo gopdori-tang is the signature dish at Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch: chicken, beef intestines, rice cakes, glass noodles and vegetables simmered in a spicy broth. The perilla leaf aroma rises up and the broth is rich, and the longer it boils, the deeper the flavor from the chicken and intestines gets.

Pairing the food with draft beer, highballs and soju
Draft beer cooled down the spiciness of the tteokbokki and the rich broth of the gopdori-tang, while the highball was fresh and clean, a good match for the oily dishes. And soju? Haha, it goes with anything, the best^^

Japanese-style assorted oden soup
The Japanese-style assorted oden soup is a clear-broth dish with skewered fish cake, mushrooms, fried tofu pouches and assorted vegetables. The light, refreshing broth cleaned up my mouth after the spicy dishes.
Is Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch good for group gatherings?
Even with a big group, talking in the room at Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch kept the conversation focused instead of splitting up. We're basically family now, and honestly we played without noticing the time. It was Manseokjip, a leading room bar near Suwon Station, where you can enjoy hearty dishes and drinks together in a cozy room.
