Jamsil weekday brunch: cod cutlet sandwich & berry crumble at Que Sera
In short
Que Sera (쾌세라) is a brunch restaurant on Baekjegobun-ro 23-gil in Songpa, Seoul, in the Jamsil area. On a weekday visit, the writer ordered a cod fish cutlet sandwich and the Summer Berry Cake, a summer dessert topped with ice cream, with an Americano. The crispy, non-fishy cod with tartar sauce and the contrast of warm crumble and cold ice cream were the highlights. For an unusual sandwich and dessert in one sitting, Que Sera in Jamsil is a satisfying choice.

I had a relaxed weekday brunch at Que Sera (쾌세라), a Jamsil brunch favorite. It's already well known for its stylish interior and warm atmosphere, and the cod cutlet sandwich and ice cream berry crumble I ordered this time beat my expectations. It was a happy, cozy meal.

What's the atmosphere like at Que Sera?
This Jamsil brunch spot is defined by natural light pouring through big windows and a wood-toned interior. The mood caught my eye the moment I walked in. It's calm yet stylish, which makes it a perfect place for brunch. It's great for chatting with a friend, and it also suits a solo visit when you want some quiet time to yourself.

How is the cod fish cutlet sandwich at Que Sera?
The first dish to arrive was the fish cutlet sandwich made with cod (daegu). A thick, crispy fried cod cutlet really made its presence known, and it looked so good I let out an "oh wow." One bite and the contrast was impressive: crunchy outside, moist cod inside. There was no fishy taste at all, just a mild, nutty flavor.

Tartar sauce, bread and sides
Fresh vegetables and the house tartar sauce came together nicely, so the flavors were well balanced. The bread was lightly crisp outside and soft inside, and it went well with the fillings. It's different from the usual brunch sandwich, which made it even more memorable. If you like fish cutlets, I think you'll be happy with this one.
The side of lettuce and butter lettuce was neat, and the plating overall was pretty. It's photogenic enough to post on social media. The portion was just right, filling enough to be a full meal on its own. The tartar sauce was so good that I scraped the plate clean!

How was the Summer Berry Cake dessert at Que Sera?
After the meal I ordered the Summer Berry Cake with ice cream for dessert. Personally, this summer special was the highlight of the day. Cold ice cream sits on top of a warm baked crumble, and I really loved that temperature contrast.
One spoonful and the crunchy crumble and soft ice cream blend, filling your mouth with sweetness. Tangy berries join in, so it finishes clean without feeling heavy. The berries' tartness balances the ice cream's sweetness, so you keep going back for more. It was a brunch that made me want to sing!
Who is Que Sera in Jamsil good for?
With a cold Americano, the fish cutlet and the Summer Berry Cake were yummy! It felt as satisfying as a proper dessert café. Que Sera isn't just good for brunch; the dessert quality is high too, so I already want to go back. If you're looking for a nice dog-friendly brunch café in Jamsil, I'd recommend Que Sera.
I think the cod cutlet sandwich suits people who want a different kind of brunch, and the homemade tiramisu and Summer Berry Cake suit anyone with a sweet tooth. The taste, the mood and the look of the food were all satisfying. Next time I definitely want to try other brunch dishes too.
