Seochon hanok café with no weekday noon wait: Dutch baby at Oldsse
In short
Oldsse Seochon is a hanok café in Seochon, on Pirun-daero in Jongno, Seoul, within walking distance of Gyeongbokgung Station. The blogger and their partner arrived around 12 noon on a weekday, sat down with no wait, and ordered a Dutch baby, hand drip coffee and an iced latte. Oldsse Seochon has no parking of its own, so drivers need a nearby public lot. Oldsse Seochon is a lovely hanok date café for a weekday lunch, but seating is limited, so allow extra time on weekends and at peak hours.

I was looking for a spot near Gyeongbokgung where I could enjoy a coffee with that hanok (traditional Korean house) feel, so my partner and I headed to Oldsse Seochon (올딧세 서촌) in Seochon.

We went at lunchtime, and I loved everything from the serene hanok atmosphere to the spaces that are perfect for photos. Today I'll share Oldsse Seochon's parking and waiting info, plus the menu items we ordered~
Where is Oldsse Seochon, and what kind of café is it?

Oldsse Seochon is a hanok café on Pirun-daero in Jongno, Seoul. It's within walking distance of Gyeongbokgung Station, so it works well as part of a Gyeongbokgung outing or a Seochon date.
First off, the exterior has that distinctive hanok mood. It keeps the traditional charm but adds a modern touch, so it feels stylish rather than dated.

I was especially impressed by how the building blends naturally into the surrounding alley. If you like Seochon's calm atmosphere, I think you'll love it.
What are the hanok interior and seating like?

Inside, Oldsse Seochon is a hanok space combining wood-toned interiors, large picture windows and exposed rafters (seokkarae). The interior makes the most of the hanok's character, and the warm wood tones go well with the big windows, so it felt comfortable and not stuffy at all.
The traditional elements like the ceiling and rafters were charming, and tasteful little props here and there made it fun just to look around.
Above all, the atmosphere is great for photos, so my partner and I snapped pictures all over the place. If you love that hanok café vibe, it's a place to enjoy the space itself, not just the drinks.
One downside: the indoor seating isn't very roomy, so on weekends or at busy times you might struggle to find a seat.
Dutch baby, hand drip coffee and iced latte

What we ordered at Oldsse Seochon that day was a Dutch baby (a puffed, oven-baked pancake), hand drip coffee and an iced latte.

The Dutch baby looks different from an ordinary pancake, which makes it a fun pairing with coffee. When drinks alone feel like not enough, adding a sweet treat makes your time at the café so much richer.
The one I personally was looking forward to was the hand drip coffee. Its aroma and flavor change with the beans, so it's perfect for a day when you want to take your time with coffee, right?

We also ordered an iced latte and enjoyed it to our taste. With options from hand drip to lattes, it looked fine for going with friends who have different coffee preferences.
If you're looking for a café around Gyeongbokgung where you can have dessert and coffee together, it's worth checking out Oldsse Seochon's menu~
Is there a wait at Oldsse Seochon on weekday lunch? Can you park?

We visited Oldsse Seochon around 12 noon on a weekday and, luckily, got a seat right away with no wait. The café has no parking of its own, so if you're driving, you'll need to use a nearby public parking lot.
That said, the café isn't very big and plenty of people out for a Seochon stroll stop by, so whether you'll wait depends on when you go. If you're planning a weekend or peak-hour visit, it's best to leave yourself some extra time.
If you come by car like we did, I recommend using a nearby public lot. The location is great for wandering the Seochon alleys, so you could park, take a walk around, and then stop by the café.
Verdict: a hanok café to stop by after a Gyeongbokgung outing

Oldsse Seochon was a Gyeongbokgung-area café where I could feel both the serene hanok atmosphere and a modern sensibility.
On our Seochon date, we enjoyed a Dutch baby, hand drip coffee and an iced latte, and got some photos too. There was no wait at weekday lunch, but it's good to know ahead of time that there's no parking space.
If you want a hanok café to stop by after visiting Gyeongbokgung, or hope to enjoy hand drip coffee in an atmospheric space, give Oldsse Seochon a visit. You get the charm of the Seochon alleys too, so I'd recommend it as a date spot.
