Giheung Station shabu-shabu for two with fried rice finish: Deungchon
In short
Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu Giheung Station Branch is a shabu-shabu and kalguksu (knife-cut noodle) restaurant on basement level 2 of ICT Valley Building B in Giheung, Yongin. On a weekend visit, two diners ordered two spicy mushroom kalguksu at ₩10,000 each plus a 180g beef shabu add-on for ₩10,000, then worked through dumplings and noodles before staff made fried rice in the kitchen, followed by dessert. The minari (water dropwort) aroma and the spicy, deep broth make Deungchon a filling meal worth recommending.

What two people ordered: spicy mushroom kalguksu x2 plus 180g beef shabu
Visit for two ✔️Spicy mushroom kalguksu ₩10,000 x2 ✔️Beef shabu add-on (180g) ₩10,000

The side dish was napa cabbage kimchi — it had a lightly fermented, freshly-tossed feel. It comes with porridge, noodles, and dumplings included! The beef shabu is 180g, which turned out to be just right for two people.

The order to eat mushroom shabu-shabu in at Deungchon
- Once the pot boils, turn the induction burner down to level 4-5
- Once the meat and vegetables are cooked, dip in the sauce
- Add the dumplings once there's plenty of broth left
- Cook the noodles at level 4-5 (stir well)
- Ask staff for fried rice; porridge is self-serve

The pot came out packed with minari, haha. It was also loaded with potatoes, oyster mushrooms, and onion!!

Once it starts bubbling, add in the shabu meat! The meat was so tender and the broth was incredibly tasty!!!!!! It wasn't just spicy — it had real depth, and it was so good.

I liked that Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu Giheung Station Branch also serves dumplings, haha.

Dipped into the wasabi soy sauce, it's fantastic! The fragrant minari and the beef go really well together. The oyster mushrooms had a strong mushroom aroma and a nice chewy texture too.
Noodles in, then the fried rice finish made at the table
After adding more broth, in go the noodles!!! Cook until the noodles are done, and stir well so they don't stick to the bottom.

The noodles were nice and chewy!!! Even better eaten with the kimchi. If you love kalguksu, adding extra noodles would be a great idea too.

You just ask staff for the fried rice. They scoop the leftovers into a bowl, take the pot away, and make the fried rice in the kitchen. I bet a lot of people go to Deungchon just for this, haha.

Soaked in the broth it's, ugh, so good — fluffy texture and so satisfyingly clean-tasting!!! Great umami, haha. You have to try the fried rice.

Deungchon Kalguksu, a Giheung shabu-shabu spot that even comes with dessert!! Getting shabu-shabu, kalguksu, fried rice, and dessert all in one meal was really filling. If you want a delicious, satisfying meal, be sure to visit Deungchon Kalguksu, a shabu-shabu kalguksu spot in Giheung, Yongin!
