This Jeju trip started with a morning ferry from Wando. By the time we landed in Jeju, it was already lunchtime! Our family's first meal in Jeju just had to be black pork.🐷 The moment we got off the boat, we headed straight for Pork80, a black pork restaurant near Jeju Airport.

Pork80 sits in Nohyeong-dong, close to Jeju Airport, so it's a great spot to stop by on your first or last day of the trip. Parking is separate from the restaurant — use the paid lot at 25 Wonnohyeong 3-gil, Jeju City, and you can get a 3-hour parking voucher from the restaurant after your meal.

We visited with 2 adults and our 4-year-old twins, so we ordered Jeju black pork 600g plus 3 bowls of rice.

The moment the meat arrived, the thickness caught my eye first. And you know how chaotic it gets with kids at a BBQ place — grilling meat while trying to feed them at the same time? At Pork80, the staff grilled it for us, so we could actually eat in peace.

They cut the kids' portions into bite-sized pieces, easy for the twins to eat.

Matcha salt, wasabi, meljeot: a different dip for every bite

The table even had instructions on how to enjoy Pork80's pork the best way. The staff showed us how to eat each grilled piece with matcha salt, fresh wasabi, pickles, and meljeot, one at a time, so we tried them all.

The one that really won over my husband and me? Meljeot! It was delicious with the meat, and by the end my husband was even mixing a bit of meljeot into his rice, saying it was great. Haha. I loved pairing mine with matcha salt and wasabi too — clean and refreshing. One bite with matcha salt, the next with meljeot, then pickles — same meat, but it felt like a new flavor every single time!

How the 4-year-old twins ate at Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch

I worried the black pork might be too thick and chewy for the kids, but it turned out softer than expected. The twins kept dipping bites into matcha salt and ended up finishing a full bowl of rice each!

They gave us kids' tableware and dried seaweed snacks, and the restaurant had a baby chair ready, which made things easy with young kids in tow.

The side dishes that went best with the black pork

The black pork at Pork80 was great, but I also loved the lineup of side dishes that came with it.

Shredded scallions, kimchi, pickles — a good variety of sides to eat alongside the meat. But my personal favorite was the yangnyeom gejang (soy-marinated crab in spicy sauce), packed with meat. Haha. The kids had a bowl of rice with black pork, and I had mine with the gejang on the side! A really satisfying lunch from start to finish.

The black pork was tender and delicious even on its own, but having all those different pairings made it even more memorable. This was our first meal in Jeju after arriving on the morning ferry from Wando, and it really felt like the trip had properly begun from the very first bite.😊 Being so close to Jeju Airport, it's a great choice for your first meal after flying in, or your last black pork meal before heading to the airport at the end of the trip. Especially with kids, having the staff grill the meat for you and having a baby chair and kids' tableware ready was a big plus. Even our 4-year-old twins ate it all up happily — our family's first meal in Jeju. :)
