Why we chose an Ara Station hair salon for men's gray hair dye

I went to Rizyou Hair (리즈유 헤어), a hair salon near Ara Station, so my husband could get his gray hair covered. His hair looked brown on the outside, but when we parted it, there was quite a lot of gray at the crown and underneath. It seemed like time for a gray coverage dye, so rather than going far, I looked for a good place in our neighborhood and found Rizyou Hair.

After the dye at Rizyou Hair, the gray hairs that used to stand out were covered, and the color turned deep and even. He looked a lot younger overall, and my husband liked his new hair color.

Rizyou Hair is in Room 202 on the 2nd floor of Three M Tower, about a 5-minute walk from Exit 8 of Ara Station. Go in through the door next to Cheokcheok Bapsang (척척밥상) on the main road and take the elevator.

If you're driving, look for the parking lot entrance at the back of Three M Tower, in the direction of Taekine Jogaejeongol (택이네 조개전골).

Rizyou Hair's atmosphere and the waiting area for kids

The inside of the salon is done in white, with big mirrors and black chairs running long along one side. What struck me first was the way the space is laid out openly rather than filled with fussy decoration.

The shampoo area is separate, toward the back, and there are a table and chairs in front of the large window.

We came with our child that day, so it was nice to have a separate place to sit and wait while the hair was being done.

Before the dye: gray hair at the part and underneath

Before the gray coverage, my husband's back hair was still his usual brown, and when I shot the crown from above, several strands of gray showed through.

When I parted his hair, there was gray mixed in on the inside too. I was curious not just about the visible outer part, but about how the inner hair color would change.

How the men's gray hair dye went at Rizyou Hair

Before starting, the Rizyou Hair designer showed a color chart and talked with my husband about which color to go for. His existing brown hair had gray mixed in, so they looked carefully before choosing. Our child stood in front of Dad and peered at the color chart too.

While my husband sat in the chair, our child kept coming up close. Protective covers were put over his ears so the dye wouldn't touch them, and I could even get photos of the dye applied to the sides and top.

The designer sectioned the hair and applied dye all the way to the back. Thanks to our child standing in front of Dad, we ended up with lots of family moments, more than a plain salon visit would give.

Can you wait with a child?

Rizyou Hair had coffee and snacks ready, and our child spent the time at the window seat watching a tablet.

They could sit with the tablet and a cup on the table. It's worth knowing that there's a separate waiting area if you're visiting with a child.

After gray coverage: how the crown and inner hair changed

After the men's gray hair dye, the Rizyou Hair designer blow-dried and styled his hair. The finished color looked closer to black than his earlier brown, though I'm told the color fades over time.

Look at the crown photo at the top: the gray that looked bright before no longer stands out much after the dye. The sides and back were also tidied up in a deep color.

Finally, I lifted the inner hair to check it too. Compared with the before photo, the way even the inner hair got darker was the most noticeable change in this dye job. The color in photos may look a little different depending on the lighting and the angle.

Looking back on our family visit to Rizyou Hair

This time I wanted to show my husband's before-and-after in detail rather than the interior or products. I didn't stop at the crown but checked the inner hair too, so the photos make the gray coverage easy to compare.
