Where is Myeonsikdang Keimyung University Branch, and when does it open?
Myeonsikdang Keimyung University Branch is on the 2nd floor at 55 Seodang-ro 9-gil, Dalseo-gu, Daegu, South Korea (Sindang-dong 1721-1). It's open from 9am to 8:50pm and closed on Thursdays. There's no dedicated parking lot, so you'll need to park in the alley, but they do have a baby chair 👌🏻
I recently moved to Dalseo-gu and was looking for somewhere nearby to grab brunch when I found this branch of 'Myeonsikdang' that opens at 9am! Here's my review after having a solid, affordable meal there — let's go!!
Myeonsikdang Keimyung University Branch is on the 2nd floor across from Keimyung University's east gate. Being so close to campus, it seems like a great spot for students to grab a quick, easy meal too.

The self-serve bar had broth, kimchi, and pickled radish set out.
I love the broth, so I ladled in plenty of the solid bits too haha
The interior is very spacious with wide gaps between tables, so it was a comfortable place to eat. There were plenty of seats, so it looked like it could easily handle group visits too!!

Myeonsikdang Keimyung University Branch's menu has all kinds of noodles, rice bowls, and katsu — ramen, mazesoba, handmade pork loin katsu — so you can pick according to your taste 👌🏻 We ordered chogye naengsoba (cold chicken soba) + katsu, tonkotsu ramen + buta-don, and a Shine Muscat ade.
What comes with the chogye naengsoba and katsu set?
It was a hot weekend day, but eating the cold chogye soba completely chased away the heat 👋 I was also so satisfied that it came with a hot katsu on the side.
The pork katsu had no gamey smell and was perfectly crispy!
The basic sauce was good, but as a wasabi lover, I can't skip the wasabi haha It was great mixed into the soba, and just as good eaten with the katsu — that sharp kick hitting the back of your nose was perfect!
True to its name, the chogye soba had quite a lot of chicken breast in it! It seems like a great menu choice when you want a light, clean meal without too much heaviness >_<
I swirled the buckwheat noodles through the broth a bunch of times and soaked them well — the broth itself was rich and the seasoning was just right~ I thought the chicken breast would be dry with only meat and no skin, but eating it together with the broth and noodles, I barely noticed any dryness!
Tonkotsu ramen and buta-don: how they tasted
A clean-looking tonkotsu ramen + buta-don. I really like how Myeonsikdang puts these sets together! Coming with rice included is such a nice touch 👏
The meat was full of smoky char flavor, and the egg that came with it had absorbed the broth so it was nice and moist. It goes down smoothly with no heaviness in your throat~~
Taking a bite of the rich, savory broth together with the bean sprouts was a pretty great pairing~ It wasn't as greasy as I expected and went down easily.
The buta-don that came with it had that great smoky char flavor, and it was perfect eaten alongside the ramen broth! I personally liked it so much that I ended up stealing my partner's rice haha
How big is the Shine Muscat ade?
Wait, what? 🫢 Can you see the size?? I was so surprised by how big it was that I put my hand next to it and took a photo. It's plenty for 4 people to share, so no need to worry about running out of drinks haha

Myeonsikdang was great for trying a bit of everything, with a menu ranging from ramen to soba to katsu! Every dish we tried was solid, making it a good spot for a light, affordable meal.
