Hongdae slice pizza pub, Seoul: pepperoni vs. Hawaiian at Raymond's

On a Friday evening I went with my boyfriend to Raymond's Hongdae, which has slice pizza and craft beer. It's famous as a Hongdae pizza spot, so let me tell you about the huge 20 cm slices and the atmosphere we loved!

Where is Raymond's Hongdae, and what are the opening hours?

Raymond's Hongdae is a 2–3 minute walk from Exit 8 of Hongik Univ. Station. Easy to get to!

I heard it's open from 12 pm to midnight normally, and until 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays, so it sounds great for a late night out.

What is the New York Manhattan-style interior at Raymond's like?

From the entrance, the vintage blue and red tones reminded me of a New York street.

The pizza on display as soon as you walk in... and when I heard the owner wanted to recreate the slice pizza he loved eating while studying in the US, I got even more excited..!

The posters on the walls and the simple logo design give it a really exotic feel, and the soft red lighting makes it a properly hip pub.

Raymond's Hongdae serves only Artmonster craft beer. You get world-class quality, and there are distinctive styles like a peanut butter porter ale, so it's known as a holy ground for pizza and beer!

Ray Set price and what comes in it

The Ray Set is ₩49,900 and includes one slice of every pizza on the menu. After some debate we ordered Raymond's signature Ray Set, which comes with sausage, truffle fries and 5 sauces as sides, a really loaded spread!

Want to see the size of the slices..? I wanted to show it with our hands, and wow... we were shocked haha. It's plenty for up to 4 women, so keep that in mind.

The sausage in the set looks springy at a glance, and it's sprinkled with cheese powder, so the flavor is rich and it's perfect with beer!

The truffle aroma spreads the moment the fries arrive, which I loved, and there's even a request checkbox to leave out the truffle in advance, a thoughtful touch. You also get 5 sauces: ketchup, Cheongyang mayo (spicy mayo), yangnyeom chicken (sweet-spicy) sauce, dipping cheese and mustard!

Are craft beer and slice pizza really a perfect match?

The slices at Raymond's are enormous, and one slice alone was enough to fill me up. The dough is thin and crispy, with generous toppings, the classic American pizza!

My boyfriend said pepperoni was his number one pick and ate it so happily haha

The salty pepperoni and cheese go so well with craft beer that the drinks just slide down. My favorite was the Hawaiian... haha

Dip the sausage deep in the sauce and take a bite, the juices burst out, oh wow..

I heard the gourmet chicken, made with a recipe passed down from a fried chicken master, is also famous, so I'll try that next time!

Eat the fries in the middle of the meal and the seasoning is evenly coated, so you keep reaching for more!

Is Raymond's Hongdae worth a return visit for pizza?
