I'm a total chicken fiend, the kind who has to have chicken on the weekend,,, so after work I headed to Daily Beer (생활맥주), a chicken spot near Balsan Station. I'd been thinking about chicken and beer all day, so I ran straight over the minute I clocked out haha

You can use the New Golden Tower parking lot, and hours are Mon–Thu 17:00–02:00, Fri–Sun 17:00–03:00. Last order is one hour before closing! Daily Beer gives you free soju with your beer, and every chicken on the menu can be ordered half-and-half for an extra ₩1,000. The Yudong Golbimmyeon Set, made up of fried chicken + Yudong golbimmyeon (spicy cold noodles with sea snails) + 2 craft beers, is ₩5,000 off, and the Naver receipt review event gets you free fries.

They have outdoor seating too, and we wanted to eat outside, but by the time I got there the outdoor tables were already full, sob. Next time I want to come early and go for an outdoor seat!!

Overall, with the red lighting, it feels like a pub in Hong Kong or somewhere abroad.

The complimentary snack and a Matsuda Beer

The Daily Beer menu and a notice that Matsuda Beer was in stock were posted up. If you like Japanese-style lager, give it a try~ We decided to order a glass of Matsuda Beer too!

The complimentary snack is the consommé-flavored crunchy popcorn from the menu. It smells like consommé but tasted like peanut butter!! Perfect as a beer snack!! The fact that we got it refilled a few times is a secret,,,🤫

For beer I went with the Matsuda Beer, a Japanese-style lager. I wanted to enjoy the Japanese beer as is, so I asked them to leave out the soju haha So the carbonation was just right and it tasted clean.

How the yangnyeom and soy garlic half-and-half tasted

I wanted yangnyeom but couldn't give up the soy garlic either, and it turned out you can order half-and-half for just ₩1,000 extra! No hesitation on that one, straight to half-and-half~~ 😋

Chicken and beer are both ready, so time to dig in!!!

If yangnyeom chicken is sweet and spicy, the soy garlic is savory and salty with garlic aroma on top! I ordered half-and-half because I figured one flavor alone might get boring or leave me wanting more, and it was a nice choice〰️

I agonized over whether to start with the yangnyeom or the soy garlic,,, I just want to scarf it all down already,,,haha

Of course chicken has to start with my beloved yangnyeom~ The chicken was big and the meat was thick on the bone. With sauce coating it this deliciously, there's no way I could pass it up haha

Yangnyeom chicken can get cloying partway through, but here the sauce isn't heavy, so eating it with beer it just kept going down.

Scrape up the sauce left on the bottom of the plate and the flavor gets even richer lol

And that's how this day's chicken feast wrapped up😆 If you're looking for a place near Balsan Station for a casual drink after work, I recommend Daily Beer!!! I'm a yangnyeom person, so at first I only had yangnyeom in mind, but I'm glad I ordered the soy garlic along with it. This time we ate indoors, but once the weather gets cooler I'd love to have chicken and a beer at the outdoor tables,,,🍻 Next time I'll have to eat outside on a cool day haha
