There was space for about one car in the alley beside Dento. But the alley is quite narrow, so a nearby public parking lot or street parking is probably more convenient.

What's the atmosphere like at Dento in Bongsan-dong?

Dento is a Bongsan-dong brunch café I'd recommend if you want a simple brunch near Banwoldang. The moment I arrived, the cute signboard sitting in a flowerpot caught my eye.

Dento has a comfortable vibe, and brunch at a sunny window seat was so good that even while writing this review I keep thinking I want to go back.. my heart goes pitter-patter.

With the thoughtfully placed props too, I thought this new Bongsan-dong café would also make a good date spot.

Can't pick just one sandwich at Dento? What to order

Dento is a Bongsan-dong sandwich café with a range of sandwiches and coffee drinks. If choosing just one sandwich is hard, I recommend the open sandwich, with a different topping on each piece. Please check the photo for the menu and prices. I went with the open sandwich, a latte and aioli baby potatoes 🍽️

Dento's sandwich and coffee menu

Dento prepares the food and brings it to your table. They set out the prettily plated sandwich and coffee, and my expectations went even higher, haha.

Aioli baby potatoes make a good side to make the open sandwich more filling, and a rich latte suits brunch 📸 The dishes were so cute that it felt a shame to eat them.

How do Dento's aioli baby potatoes taste?

Dento's aioli baby potatoes pair the fluffy texture of boiled potato with a sweet, tangy aioli sauce.

The potatoes were a little smaller than a fist. As a side dish the price isn't a burden, the sauce and potato combination was great, and eaten with the sandwich it was really filling.

If you're wondering which side to get, I recommend the aioli baby potatoes 🥔

Dento's 5-flavor bite-size open sandwich and the order to eat it

The bite-size open sandwich, Dento's signature and flagship dish, comes in five flavors. Here's a look at all five.

  • Pan con tomate (tomato bread)
  • Avocado salmon
  • Romesco roasted vegetables
  • Shrimp rémoulade
  • Truffle ricotta

They told me to eat Dento's open sandwich in the order it's plated, from the pan con tomate through to the truffle ricotta.

It's an open sandwich you can eat easily like finger food, but the toppings were remarkably varied, and picking up the different pieces one by one made a brunch spread that didn't leave me wanting.

The latte was generously made too. A Bongsan-dong café I recommend for its coffee.

Eating the menu like a sample: how satisfying is the bite-size open sandwich?

Dento is a Banwoldang sandwich favorite, so I agonized over which sandwich to order. The bite-size open sandwich let me taste every item like a sample, so I was really satisfied. It even made me want to come back and order the sandwiches one by one next time.
