Raon Asian Dining Bar is an Asian dining bar on the 11th floor of Woosung Tower on Nahyeseok-gil in Suwon. Walking from Exit 8 of Suwon City Hall Station took about 5 minutes, so the accessibility was really great~

I was looking for somewhere to set the mood and catch up with friends for a wedding invitation gathering, and I found this hot spot among the Nahyeseok-gil bars! Since everyone was meeting up midway after work, location mattered a lot, and it being close to the subway station made it perfect for an after-work meetup.

Raon Asian Dining Bar is located on the 11th floor. My expectations were already rising just from riding up haha. Getting off the elevator, you see a heavy-looking black door..! At first it had a somewhat secretive feel, which made me so curious what the inside would look like!!

The 11th-floor window views and outdoor terrace at Raon Asian Dining Bar

Raon Asian Dining Bar's biggest weapon is its high-floor view through the floor-to-ceiling windows on the 11th floor. The moment the door opened, the sleek interior and wide-open view spread out before us T.T The massive glass windows made the high-floor view unbelievably refreshing and pretty..?

The lighting wasn't too dim either, tuned perfectly to a moody, pretty atmosphere, so photos came out great haha. Even among Suwon wine bars, this one ranks among the most luxurious and atmospheric in terms of interior styling. My friends were all busy taking photos with their phones the moment we walked in lol

Looking to one side, there was also a separate outdoor terrace section! On a nice-weather day like this, eating something delicious on the terrace would really be healing haha. I stepped out briefly, and the wide-open city view coming into full sight gave me proper rooftop vibes..! There were already quite a few people out there enjoying the breeze and atmosphere on the terrace seats. We had a lot to talk about, so we took an indoor table.

Menu and ordering: QR code at the table, alcohol required

At Raon Asian Dining Bar, ordering at least one alcoholic drink is required, and you order via the QR code at your table. As soon as we sat down we were starving, so we dove straight into browsing the menu lol. Being an Asian dining bar, there were so many delicious-looking items that I had a happy dilemma the whole time flipping through the menu — and we also carefully considered what drinks to pair with the food!

From highballs to glass wine, non-alcoholic highballs, and sparkling wine, the drinks lineup was really diverse.

Since the four of us came together this time, we decided to order a variety of things and share. The ordering system was also convenient — you just scan the QR code attached to the table and order that way! No need to call a staff member over, and we could slowly browse photos on our phones to pick, which was nice. There were so many delicious-looking options that we first put in an order for just the three things we wanted most. After putting the order in through the QR code, delicious smells started drifting over from the kitchen lol

While waiting for the food, we took in the amazing view through the windows once more haha. As the sun started setting, the sky outside turned a beautiful shade of sunset — among Ingye-dong bars, this place is definitely number one for the view! With soft music blending with the night view, the mood of our wedding invitation gathering became so much cozier and better. Catching up after a while and seeing such a pretty night view made all the weekday fatigue just melt away T.T Right as we were deep into catching up on each other's lives, the first dish we'd been waiting for finally arrived.

Shrimp perilla oil pasta

The first thing to arrive was the shrimp perilla oil pasta!!! The visuals were insane T.T Served on a clear glass plate.. it passed the plating test right away!

The moment it landed on the table, the nutty scent of perilla oil wafted by, and my mouth started watering instantly. Even as an oil pasta, it wasn't greasy at all, and the nutty perilla flavor clung perfectly to the noodles — a real specialty! The noodles were also nice and chewy, and the seasoning was spot on, so everyone shouted 'delicious!' after just one bite~!~!

Dongpo pork belly, served as a set with pancake wraps

The dongpo pork belly (dongpo-rou) at Raon Asian Dining Bar comes as a set that includes wraps. The dongpo pork belly, which everyone in our group had been most looking forward to, arrived right after. The dongpo pork belly meat was sliced thin — not thick at all, just the right thickness for easy eating.

The meat texture was so tender it nearly crumbled with just a light lift of the chopsticks! There was no gamey smell, and the sweet-savory sauce had soaked all the way into the meat, so it just melted in the mouth,, thanks to the soft, moist flavor, it was the perfect dish to pair with a clean glass of highball or wine!! Since the meat was so tender, it wasn't sickening at all — the kind of flavor that keeps you reaching for more haha.

When the dongpo pork belly arrived, chewy tortilla-like wraps came with it as a set for wrapping. I placed the tender dongpo pork belly meat on a warm wrap, added a bit of vegetables and sauce, and wrapped it up neatly! The chewy texture of the wrap and the melt-in-your-mouth dongpo pork belly went together better than I expected — I was genuinely impressed haha. Wrapping it up made the texture even better and really brought out the flavor!

Stir-fried morning glory was the dish of the night

The best dish of everything we ate that day was the stir-fried morning glory (gongsimchae). The signature crunchy texture of the morning glory was still there, and the savory, salty seasoning was insanely good.

All of my friends gathered there kept exclaiming, without fail, that this was so delicious lol. It was tasty just eaten on its own, but paired with the other main dishes, the synergy was next level. Scooping it up together with the meat's seasoning made the drinks just go down smoothly~!~! Next time I come back, this stir-fried morning glory is definitely getting ordered first.

Finishing with yurinchi, fried chicken in tangy sauce

The last dish we tried, yurinchi, was a textbook crispy-outside-juicy-inside chicken dish..! Crispy fried chicken came drizzled generously with a sweet-and-tangy sauce.

Yurinchi's signature salty-tangy flavor was the perfect clean way to wrap up the meal. Eaten together with the crunchy vegetables, it was refreshing and not the least bit heavy, even though it was fried!

What a full table for four looked like

A whole table full of dishes, and the visuals were insane T.T Looking at all the colorful, neatly arranged dishes together made us feel full and happy just looking at it!! Even looking back now, my eyes and mouth are having fun all over again haha. It was perfect as a snack alongside wine or highballs, and also plenty substantial enough to work as dinner in terms of both portion and variety.

From the gorgeous high-floor view to the special flavors of the food, nothing was missing, and everyone left completely satisfied! I think we'll be coming back with friends again soon to enjoy the mood haha.
