Powdered oat drink for busy mornings: Garu Seonsaeng Original
In short
Garu Seonsaeng Mix-and-Drink Oat Drink Original is a powdered oat drink I tried at home in Korea on busy mornings, while my husband took it to work. It was easy to shake with water and had a richer nutty flavor than I expected, especially over ice; I found it smooth rather than chalky.

I received this product and used it.

How did I fit it into busy mornings?
After sending my twins to daycare, I often skipped breakfast because I did not have time to prepare a meal. My husband was also looking for something simple to eat while getting ready for work.

The Garu Seonsaeng Mix-and-Drink Oat Drink Original I tried this time was easy to prepare and tasted good, too. I drink it at home, and my husband takes it to work.
Do you just add water and shake it?
I found overnight oatmeal inconvenient because it has to be prepared the night before. This product was convenient on busy mornings because I only had to add water to the powder and shake it.

I could prepare it right when I wanted to drink it, without soaking, blending, or straining oats, which was a good way to save time.

My husband brought the product and a tumbler to work and drank a cup after arriving. He said it felt easy on his stomach and filling.
What ingredients are in this oat drink?
According to the product description, it uses whole Canadian oats, including the bran, and aims to include beta-glucan and dietary fiber. I liked that it uses whole oats.

I usually find it difficult to get enough dietary fiber, but the simple mix-and-drink format made it convenient to have in the morning.

It is said to use oats, sea salt, and unrefined raw sugar, without emulsifiers, artificial flavoring, or preservatives.

Was the powdered drink weak or chalky?
At first, I wondered whether the powdered format would make the flavor weak. Once I tried it, though, it was nuttier and richer than I expected, and went down smoothly without leaving a chalky feeling in my mouth.

I tend to tire of very sweet drinks quickly, but this one tasted gently nutty and clean. I especially liked it chilled.
How was storage and portability?
With liquid oat drinks, I sometimes felt pressured to finish them quickly once opened. Since this is a powder, I could mix only what I needed at the time, and it was easy to store.

After having it at home and at work, I thought it would also be fine to bring on trips or camping.

How did I enjoy it most?
I was satisfied when I added ice and drank it cold, as I could taste its gentle nuttiness. Its rich nutty flavor also made it nice to enjoy like a latte.
I have a quick cup in the morning or have it as a snack when I am hungry. Since it needs no preparation the day before and my husband also finds it easy to have at work, I would buy it again.
