Hello, it's Songsongi!
Today I'm introducing Baegyeom Makchang (백염막창) near Euljiro 3-ga Station! I was so, so happy with this place that I'll go through it in detail below 🥺
Baegyeom Makchang location and hours
Baegyeom Makchang is at 48-3 Supyo-ro, 1st floor, Jung-gu, Seoul, 104 m from Exit 11 of Euljiro 3-ga Station. It's open daily 15:00 - 24:00, with last order at 23:00.

The sign says Baegyeom Makchang in big letters, so it was no trouble to find at all! It's so popular that I'd heard there's a wait about an hour after opening, so we basically did an open-run, haha (and really, the tables fill up around 6 pm, so I recommend going early 🥺)

Atmosphere and seating: is it good for a group dinner?
This is how the inside of Baegyeom Makchang is laid out! It's quite spacious with lots of tables, so I think it'd be perfect for a company dinner or group gathering in Euljiro~

Side dishes and how to make the makchang sauce
Here's the basic table setting at Baegyeom Makchang! Ssamjang (dipping paste), garlic, chili peppers, green onion kimchi, perilla leaves and more~

On the wall there were instructions for making the makchang sauce. Add plenty of scallions and chili peppers and mix well!
I mixed it up generously just as instructed! Dipping the makchang in it was, as expected, heavenly 😻👍

Water comes in 500 ml plastic bottles, so it doesn't take up table space and feels clean, which I liked~~ The complimentary biji (soybean pulp) was so nutty and delicious!

Restroom and ordering
The restroom is inside the restaurant~ It was clean and even had foam soap, so I was satisfied! (I'm someone who cares a lot about restroom cleanliness.. if it's dirty, I really don't want to come back, ugh)

You order by scanning a QR code! Lots of places do it this way these days, and I thought, oh nice, that's convenient, haha

Baegyeom Makchang menu and what we ordered
Let me show you the menu! We ordered Daegu makchang for 2 (₩17,000), marinated makchang for 2 (₩18,000), kimchi noodle soup (₩9,000) + drinks!

Daegu makchang, 2 servings
This is 2 servings of Daegu makchang, and look how plump it is! It was chubby even at a glance, which surprised me~

I'll also share how to enjoy Baegyeom Makchang~❤️

The makchang grilling to a golden brown 😻 They also give you enoki mushrooms and green onions, which I loved! Eating them with the makchang doubles the nuttiness~~
It was even better with a cold somaek (soju mixed with beer)~ Baegyeom Makchang has no smell at all and isn't chewy, so it was totally delicious! I've had makchang in Daegu too, but I feel like this place is better (whispering). My friends raved about it as well, and I was proud of myself for finding the restaurant, hehe

Kimchi noodle soup, ₩9,000
Kimchi noodle soup, ₩9,000. I ordered it after reading reviews saying you must get it! The broth was cold and refreshing, and the portion was generous enough that three of us shared it and it was plenty~ I recommend the kimchi noodle soup~~

Marinated makchang, 2 servings, ₩18,000
Marinated makchang, 2 servings, ₩18,000. They said it comes fully grilled, so you can just eat it as is! The sweet seasoning was insanely good + onion and mayonnaise are love, right? ❤️❤️ The plain makchang and the marinated one were both delicious, so I recommend ordering both~

How long is the Friday evening wait?
After eating happily, I sprayed myself with fabric deodorizer on the way out, haha

When we left around 7 pm on Friday, there were 4 teams waiting on Catch Table! Just so you know!
Baegyeom Makchang was so, so good! Return visit booked~~
