My coworkers and I were looking for a good Korean BBQ place in Suwon for a team dinner or a family meal, and we ended up at Olheun Gogi Suwon Main Branch (옳은고기 수원본점)! These days taste isn't everything. I also care about whether parking is easy and whether the hours are generous, and this place ticked those boxes too, so I wanted to introduce it, haha.

We went right after work, a bit early, and could still eat in a relaxed way. Since it's open late, there's no rush, and you can just enjoy the meat. Team dinners near the office often start late, so I'd recommend it to office workers who don't want to worry about that.

What are the hall and rooms like for a Mangpo Station team dinner?

The moment you walk into the hall you see big tables, which looks perfect for a whole-team dinner! And that's not all, there are rooms too!

Tablet ordering and a self-serve drink fridge

This is the table we sat at. Every table has a tablet, so ordering looked easy even when the place gets noisy, haha.

There are baby chairs, ice and non-alcoholic beer as well. What looked especially good for a team dinner was the big drink fridge, where you just help yourself. So convenient.

What comes with the Olheun pork set?

We ordered the Olheun pork set (옳은 돼지 한상세트) at Olheun Gogi Suwon Main Branch. For first-time visitors, a set menu that lets you try a variety at once seems the best choice. The side items that go with the meat were generous too, so we were quite satisfied without adding any extra orders!

Menu listing for the Olheun pork set

Braised tuna, green onion kimchi and myeongi greens

They set out the side dishes for us! This braised tuna was really good, haha. There were also green onion kimchi and myeongi namul (pickled wild garlic-chive greens), side dishes that pair perfectly with meat. I liked the thoughtful touch of giving us ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste) and salt with spoons so we could scoop them out.

We had all come by car, so we tried non-alcoholic beer just for the mood, haha.

Do the staff grill the meat at Olheun Gogi Suwon Main Branch?

Yes, the staff grill all the meat for you from start to finish, haha. We got to eat in comfort thanks to that.

Thick-cut raw pork from the Olheun pork set

A staff member brought the meat, and it looked better than I expected. The thick-cut pork was a vivid pink-red and looked fresh. As soon as it hit the grill, the sizzle and the smell of meat spread, and for that moment our conversation paused and we all focused on the pork! By the way, the color of this meat... ah, I'm drooling.

I took the first golden-brown piece with just a little salt. The first thing I noticed was the juiciness. The moment I bit in, the juices spread and a rich, nutty flavor filled my mouth. The fat was chewy but not greasy, and the lean meat was mild and tender, the kind you keep reaching for.

The meljeot (salted fermented anchovy dip) that came with it was good too.

Yukhoe, grilling cheese and steamed egg

The Olheun pork set also comes with yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), grilling cheese and steamed egg. This was seriously crazy good. The yukhoe is, well, needless to say delicious, and eating the meat wrapped in cheese was so nutty and rich.

The steamed egg that came with it was so soft and fluffy, and really delicious. The set comes out really full.

How many people does the Olheun pork set feed?

The Olheun pork set was filling enough for three of us. At first I wondered if it would be too little, but they grill the meat in two rounds, haha. There was a second round of meat too! If appetites are small, I think four people could manage it.

There's a restroom inside the restaurant too, which was really convenient.
